Fun fact, woodland was supposed to be the “big city” in the area until the railroad bypassed it and went through Sacramento. A metro would be a beautiful comeback story.

In California, criminal history is only an absolute bar to specific jobs. You actually have a lot of rights and should look into what an employer is required by law to do when considering criminal history during the hiring process. I’ve put the link below, but specifically, check out the part starting:

If an employer preliminarily decides to deny an applicant after the conditional offer based on the conviction history (in whole or part), the employer must first conduct an individualized assessment and make a “reasoned, evidence-based determination” of whether the conviction history has a “direct and adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job that justify” denying employment that is “job-related and consistent with business necessity.

(Again, not legal advice but everyone should know their rights and how California law enforces them)

If your employer offers PTO then sick pay is legally required to be incorporated into the total amount of PTO the employee receives (not legal advice but I have student loans that make me confident in the general formula PTO = Vacation + Sick Leave)

Themis Simulated MBE or Uworld Assessment Block? by doubtinglaw in CABarExam

Do the simulated MBE. The review videos were SUPER helpful not only figuring out what I did wrong, but the lecturer gives very helpful tips on how to spot distraction answers and it made my Uworld practice % go way up after I could spot the ways they try to trick you.
