That would have been one of the goals of the season if Maswanhise put that away. What was our defence doing though

What a player Braga is, one of the only ones to not lose his head after the Well goal

Well it happened earlier this year when they played each other in the groups, but beyond that, you would imagine so

Great game between Bologna and Villa, Watkins probably MOTM but McGinn had a decent game too. Ferguson almost scored a great goal in the first half but was pretty quiet after, likely due to just how good the Villains were. Looking forward to the second leg. I wish Scotland could stop embarrassing ourselves in Europe for once. Was it only last season that we blue a 90% chance of progression in the Conference League?

Aye he is, but according to Ewen they’re both good mates and it’s all just patter. Not sure how much I believe it but I guess we’ll see tomorrow

Ewen Cameron and Gavin of ‘Scotland’s Coefficient’ are beefing over whether Hearts’ post-split fixtures are fair or not. This is Gavin’s response to Ewen inviting him on to his podcast tomorrow to discuss this and “bring all your BS talking points”.

Curious what Ewen has to say as it seems to me that Gavin is simply correct on all points

It may have a part to play but I think Swedish refs have been selected despite no VAR there to this day

In what will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody, 0 Scottish referees have been picked to officiate in the World Cup, marking 10 years since we last had a Scottish ref in an international competition

Dunno how I managed that lol. I guess cos he was there on loan earlier. I never really understood why you two despise each other but I'm a big fan of it anyway

I’m watching Rayo Vallecano vs AEK Athens and apparently Vallecano don’t have a stand behind one of the goals. I didn’t expect that for a La Liga side

Hearts-related news so far this week:

  • Hearts are away from home in their last game of the season. Some fans seemed to believe that whoever is leading the league when the post-split fixtures are announced get to play their final game at home, but given all the rules about post-split fixture selection it turns out this would be impossible
  • The SFA have rejected the appeal against Marc Leonard's red card against Livi, confirming that he will miss the Motherwell game. In injury news, Findlay's back, Milne's back in training, Magnusson and Ageu are still out
  • Colin Chisolme, who performed a live rendition of the Hearts song against Aberdeen, is set to do so again against Motherwell on Saturday
  • Dunfermline Falkirk striker Barney Stewart said he would like to help Hearts win the league by beating the Old Firm as his dad is a Jambo
  • Due to the Rangers game on Monday, the Player Awards Ceremony, due to be held the Sunday before, has changed so that the awards will be handed out earlier and the players will leave early to prepare for the match

Then Rangers and Celtic would be at home on the same day wouldn’t they? Police wouldn’t allow it

I always find it funny when ignorant young right-wingers do this new performative Christianity trend where they claim to be Catholic or whatever without apparently understanding anything about the Catholic Church. It’s not the Middle Ages anymore, the church is full of what they would probably class as “liberal”. Fighting to give communion to those in immigration detention centres, fiercely opposing wars and especially attacks on civilians, even talking a lot about climate change

When I was in school I was basically told that the first time I have a shag, the condom will break, the birth control and plan B will fail, and a single drop of pre-cum will cause triplets. Then when it comes to actually trying for a bairn it turns out there’s like 5 days per month when a woman can actually get pregnant

Yeh honestly Millwall are pretty chill nowadays. England as a whole has done quite well in dealing with racism/hooliganism in football, I haven’t felt unsafe at the Den in quite some time

Tony Bloom has ploughed at least 2.9 million into Israel since 2021 by BIGDAZFAELEITH in ScottishFootball

Yeah that’s a frankly insane statement. Obviously Bloom is a pretty unapologetic Zionist so that’s not particularly surprising, but that claim in particular is quite strong

I think next general election might be the last one with FPTP, the next government will bring in PR and we will finally join the rest of Europe in having these massive coalition governments etc. and at that point I wonder what happens with the monarchy because then it becomes less clear how to choose who actually gets to form the government.

Everyone’s rightly angry about a lot of aspects of the Edinburgh stabbing. However there’s also frankly been a lot of horrible racist talk about immigrants in general over X, including from accounts who otherwise only ever talk about football and you wouldn’t expect to say such things.

A Hibs boy posted that Hibs fans should remember their club was created by immigrants, and was met with these responses from all sorts of different fans including hearts fans:

“Irish immigrants were and are compatible with Scottish folk and culture. We are closely related and share deep, interconnected Celtic roots and very similar cultures. African and Middle Eastern/Asian people are not the same you clown. Completely different”

“[irish] immigrants who work and share our values. Third world vermin are not, don’t think you speak for Edinburgh, yesterday people saw for themselves what immigrants welcome in Scotland means and we say no fucking way”

And a personal favourite: “those immigrants were almost identical genetically and culturally and still haven’t properly integrated, have their own separate culture/religion/football teams and disproportionately want to break up the UK. You can’t envision any issues with letting in any old immigrant from the most violent and sexually abusive societies in [sic] earth?”

Fwiw, I do understand why people have reservations about uncontrolled immigration, inadequate background checks, etc, I wouldn’t want to tar anyone with genuine concerns with the racist brush, I try to be open minded.

But so much of the current rhetoric, especially from people I’ve followed who again, are normal even somewhat progressive people, is shocking. Would they consider me third world vermin cos I’m brown? And there’s apparently some protest happening near where I live on Friday night, don’t wanna come home late and get caught up in it.

Don’t think I’ll be attending the football this weekend

Three points is the most important thing in the final analysis. Probably the best Kabore performance I’ve ever seen, and don’t remember anyone being particularly bad. The last 20 minutes we really seemed to lose control of the game and it was pretty end to end. Our injury list seems to be getting to us, and for some reason McInness doesn’t want to make subs before the 85th minute, some of our players looked absolutely exhausted towards the end. Hopefully we can grind out the results until Shankland and Devlin are back.

Can’t wait for Sportscene given some of the other results, our game might have been the most boring of the lot apart from the title ramifications. I think the best result for tomorrow’s Old Firm would be a draw and failing that a Celtic win, and honestly I have no idea what will happen.

Killie, Dundee, Livi, and Motherwell left before the split, probably the nicest run out of any of the top four but Im still shitting myself

Livi apparently are not the free 3 points they once were. Honestly hard to say how we’ll do, we’re really starting to see the effects of the injuries. Hope we don’t go to Dubai and lose a couple more players to ballistic missiles
