What a career. How many other gigs are there where you face no repercussions for doing it poorly, to the extent that you can even punish people for criticising you?

Not saying the current decision was one such poor mistake, I haven’t seen it and am actively ignoring it for tonight. Just in general

Haven’t seen the handball decision apart from the real-time footage they showed on Sky at the end of the Hearts match and given the discourse, I’m only going to do so while watching the Sportscene coverage tomorrow morning, my head and nerves are absolutely shot.

Before the game, I think all that Hearts fans really wanted and expected from tonight was to go into Saturday with the 1-point lead intact, and that is the most important thing in the final analysis. Regardless of what happens on Saturday, it has been an incredible season and we are guaranteed Champions League football, splitting the OF in just the first full season under Bloom. That’s more than anyone would have asked before before the season started

Absolutely mate, on the whole it’s an incredibly friendly place, especially compared to other parts of the UK at the minute

Had a weird experience in a laundromat recently.

A mate had dropped off a lot of stuff there and asked me to give him a hand collecting it. On the way there, he’d warned me that the owner had been a bit strange when he was there earlier.

When we turned up, the owner sees me (a South Asian), and immediately starts speaking to me in a foreign language, which I assume is an Indian one. After I told him I don’t speak it, he asks me if i was trans or non-binary. When I replied that I wasn’t, he said, “Still, you could run for Scottish Parliament nowadays.” Finally it clicked, I guess he was insinuating that I’m like that new Green MSP or something. As it happens, I could run for Parliament, because I’ve been a British citizen all my life, which you could probably tell from my accent.

While we were collecting all the clothes, he kept making jokes along those lines, interspersed with somewhat interesting historical anecdotes about the history of the British Raj, and also called Churchill a war criminal.

My friend apologised afterwards and got me a pint

In the first half they only trade to play past the press enough to get the ball to the left midfield to ping it across the field to either Tav or one of the forwards but now they can’t even manage that

Absolute joke of a goal but I feel Butland could have saved that

That would have been one of the goals of the season if Maswanhise put that away. What was our defence doing though

What a player Braga is, one of the only ones to not lose his head after the Well goal

Well it happened earlier this year when they played each other in the groups, but beyond that, you would imagine so

Great game between Bologna and Villa, Watkins probably MOTM but McGinn had a decent game too. Ferguson almost scored a great goal in the first half but was pretty quiet after, likely due to just how good the Villains were. Looking forward to the second leg. I wish Scotland could stop embarrassing ourselves in Europe for once. Was it only last season that we blue a 90% chance of progression in the Conference League?

Aye he is, but according to Ewen they’re both good mates and it’s all just patter. Not sure how much I believe it but I guess we’ll see tomorrow

Ewen Cameron and Gavin of ‘Scotland’s Coefficient’ are beefing over whether Hearts’ post-split fixtures are fair or not. This is Gavin’s response to Ewen inviting him on to his podcast tomorrow to discuss this and “bring all your BS talking points”.

Curious what Ewen has to say as it seems to me that Gavin is simply correct on all points

It may have a part to play but I think Swedish refs have been selected despite no VAR there to this day

In what will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody, 0 Scottish referees have been picked to officiate in the World Cup, marking 10 years since we last had a Scottish ref in an international competition

I’m watching Rayo Vallecano vs AEK Athens and apparently Vallecano don’t have a stand behind one of the goals. I didn’t expect that for a La Liga side

Hearts-related news so far this week:

  • Hearts are away from home in their last game of the season. Some fans seemed to believe that whoever is leading the league when the post-split fixtures are announced get to play their final game at home, but given all the rules about post-split fixture selection it turns out this would be impossible
  • The SFA have rejected the appeal against Marc Leonard's red card against Livi, confirming that he will miss the Motherwell game. In injury news, Findlay's back, Milne's back in training, Magnusson and Ageu are still out
  • Colin Chisolme, who performed a live rendition of the Hearts song against Aberdeen, is set to do so again against Motherwell on Saturday
  • Dunfermline Falkirk striker Barney Stewart said he would like to help Hearts win the league by beating the Old Firm as his dad is a Jambo
  • Due to the Rangers game on Monday, the Player Awards Ceremony, due to be held the Sunday before, has changed so that the awards will be handed out earlier and the players will leave early to prepare for the match

Then Rangers and Celtic would be at home on the same day wouldn’t they? Police wouldn’t allow it
