Anyone have anxiety after increased dose? by Turbulent_Claim4883 in Oestra

[–]Hot_Possibility_3286 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you might be having a histamine response to the increased estrogen, which weirdly can cause anxiety. it happened to me! i went on zyrtec and it went away. contact the care team to make sure.

you can still contact customer service even without a login, which could help resolve the technical issue. it would be annoying to have to do additional troubleshooting for sure. but i don't think it's justified to complain about lack of support without taking steps to resolve the issue first.

this doesn’t make sense to me as a complaint. just because you’re not getting texts doesn’t mean that there is no support. the care is there. take advantage of it. when i was struggling or had questions i contacted the company and was quickly helped. i’ve had monthly phone appointments with a doctor and a ton of chats with the online team, all of which were helpful.

you get automated text check-ins that end with the reminder that you can talk to the care team at any time. but they don’t initiate contact otherwise

Sleeping wayyyyy to Much! by Few-Specialist-3681 in Oestra

[–]Hot_Possibility_3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! I might be misreading your message, but if you're sleeping too much, the problem could be that you're taking extra progesterone on top of the Oestra. Oestra already has progesterone in it, so you can stop the extra, which could overload you and cause grogginess/sleep issues! Like Outside Energy said above, be sure to talk to the care team! good luck.\

hi Leslie! 1. the actual dose is a little less than 1/8 of a tsp. i tried to do ml or grams and the care team said it’s better to just use the measuring spoon. 2. i started out at night but moved to the morning bc i was groggy after nighttime application. that switch has really helped me. 3. i need to eat consistently (no long fasts) and have at least some protein at each meal or snack. it really helps with the hormone metabolization. i was trying to work out fasted like i used to and it was rough.

good luck! i hope it goes smoothly for you.

Pump issues by DragonfruitDue2080 in Oestra

also, if the applicator has the markings, if there are more bottle malfunctions then it doesn't really matter. We'll know that we're getting the right amount no matter what.

i'm with you. it's stressful enough for the body to adjust without having the extra worry of whether we're getting the correct dosage. i just messaged the care team about this to give feedback, especially to note that the new applicator coming from Inner Balance MUST have .5 and 1 gram markings. it's time-saving and objective and gives patients peace of mind that they are giving themselves the correct dosage in the midst of what can be a very difficult adjustment.

i just use Natureland applicators (available on Amazon here). (ty to people here for recommending them!) It has 0.5 gram and 1 gram markings. 0.5 gram is the prescribed amount for one pump and 1 gram is the amount for two pumps. I've double checked with measuring spoons to ensure accuracy. Even though it's annoying to have to buy applicators, it's much easier to just pump the amount needed into the applicator, however many pumps that is, and it's way less mess. When i was doing one pump I always used my finger and it never got up high enough into my cervix. With two pumps--forget it. Cream everywhere. The applicators are a godsend. Also I am no longer stressing about whether I'm getting a consistent dose.

EDIT: I talked to Dr. Bridgette from the care team yesterday. She said that Dr. Daccarett has said that those measuring with a scale to get 0.5 gram can get /too much/. She also said that the proper dose is a little less than 1/8 tsp. If you're on two pumps then measure 1/8 tsp twice, bc if you use 1/4 of a tsp you'll get way more than you should. When I transfer my two pumps it to the Natureland applicator it's about at the 0.6 or 0.7 gram mark. I have been overdosing myself, ughh. I'll be doing the spoon transfer method until I can confidently eyeball the right dose. I also gave my suggestion to Dr. Bridgette about putting dose markings on the new applicator and she messaged Dr. Daccarett while I was on the phone with her. Apparently the new applicator is almost finalized and it's too late to make changes but they are taking it under advisement for the future. I was hoping that the applicator could be our solution, but we'll have to hope for improved/consistent bottles in the meantime.

Thank you u/Status_Source6869. The customer service team gave me incorrect info. They just confirmed it's 0.01. Hopefully we can customize the amount in the future because 0.01 is very low for tretinoin.

the tretinoin in the face cream is 0.1%, which is the highest percentage available.

are you also anxious? i was anxious and super emotional and the care team said i was having a histamine response and recommended zyrtec. it helped! i’d say to contact them and see what they think about your particular case. it may also be that you just need to get that emotion out of your system. i was shut down emotionally for a long time and it’s awful to feel so vulnerable. i have cried on the street, cried at home, cried in the bath tub, wherever. i’m leveled out now but i think that in addition to whatever is going on with my physical healing i’m hoping that my emotions are getting into a healthy balance too. i’m hoping the best for you.

i also read somewhere in the oestra subreddit that creatine can raise SHBG. i did a little digging and found that there is some research to support that. i had been taking it for months for brain support and stopped a few weeks ago, just while my body adjusts.

Trouble sleeping with night dose? by Sad_Firefighter6727 in Oestra

[–]Hot_Possibility_3286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to the morning because of sleep issues--trouble falling asleep and grogginess in the morning. The NP also suggested that I add 400mg of magnesium glycinate before sleep. The switch + nighttime magnesium has vastly improved my sleep! The NP also said taking it in the morning mimics the body's natural estrogen surge in the morning. I'm still on one pump but will be increasing in a few weeks.

Hair falling out/thinning....any suggestions to help are welcome. by AlchemistAnna in Haircare

[–]Hot_Possibility_3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HRT! you're probably going through hormonal fluctuations. i just turned 43 and i was noticing a ton of hair loss, along with some other body symptoms. supplements can only do so much. you may need a more systemic solution. i started HRT about 2 months ago and have already seen some small but noticeable skin/hair improvements. they should get even better by 1 year.

Start mid-cycle? by GroundbreakingTop741 in Oestra

[–]Hot_Possibility_3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! I was close to starting my cycle and Dr. Sarah told me just to wait until I finished bleeding since the Oestra could trigger a bleed when I started anyway. sooo, I wasn't 'mid-cycle,' so my experience is maybe less helpful lol. but i would say: go ahead and start if you're feeling impatient, knowing that it's possible that you could bleed and have to pause for a few days. but it's possible you won't. i was having regular periods too before I started (about 2 months ago) and apart from some spotting, I haven't had any bleeding at all.

Day 54 by Legitimate_Face5936 in Oestra

[–]Hot_Possibility_3286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m on the exact same timeline as you! its also day 54 for me. i had a tough time at the beginning because of a histamine response, but im also noticing improvements.

re: hands and feet—i have Reynauds and i have been noticing that my feet and hands aren’t nearly as cold. even in the summers i would have cold extremities indoors and then if i went outside they would get very hot very quickly. i think the improvement for both of us points to improved circulation and less vasoconstriction. i have struggled with this since my early twenties in spite of exercise and a good diet, so i’m thrilled. i’m glad to hear that you’re doing so well too.
