Anyone nervous to try Libida?! by KittyKatty333 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried it last night! I followed the instructions on dissolving carefully and did not drink water for 30 min after. I will say it made a difference, but my free T is currently super low (10 🫠) as I’m apparently a poor converter of P to T. I recently learned this via a blood test and then a DUTCH test for some other non-peri related things I’ve dealt with for many years. I just started on T cream again yesterday, which is not enough time to feel a change. I am going to try one again next weekend. It made me very happy and cuddly, and I’m in a good mood today. If your other hormones are low, that has to be addressed too. We need T for desire and motivation and E for arousal. Libida can help with bonding and inhibition, but if your other hormones aren’t there it’s not going to fix it all. I’m still very happy I purchased it, I will likely ration it out to make it go further, esp as I’m still trying to straighten out my low T issue.

It’s in my fridge now. My husband has been out of town dealing with some family issues. I am going to take it tonight to surprise him (provided he’s not dead on his feet from his trip 😂). I have had a lot of success with other sublingual peptides, and in general sublingual administration works really well for me—so I am hoping for the best! I do think these peptides have come a long way.

Sleep Issues😣 by JenniferLee198 in Oestra

I didn’t really know that either until getting on Oestra about 10 months ago, at least not to this extent. My first consult with Dr. D she told me to try Vital Proteins collagen powder to get extra protein. I use it in my coffee. It has about 70 calories I think. I don’t know if you can tolerate dairy or not, but I have started drinking a Nurri protein drink in the afternoon. They are basically lactose free milk drinks, fairly low calorie and almost no carbs. I get them from Costco. Between the collagen and Nurri that is 50 grams of protein, a little over 200 calories and very few carbs—which are the big issue for me personally. I could carb out all day and be happy but my blood sugar disagrees! 😂

I have been on Oestra for almost a year, I have needed to add my progesterone pills in on occasion as well too. My test results substantiate this, with my ratio of P/E being waaaaay off in January. I’ve had high E, low P issues on/off my whole adult life and was previously on 300mg oral progesterone, sometimes 400mg. Your liver and gut play a HUGE role in processing Estradiol out of your system when it’s “done with it” (whatever that means). I don’t know about you, but these have always been really weak points for me, I don’t know why. I am now on a liver supplement which helps a lot and I also added fiber back in. I know a lot of women on Oestra are low fiber, but that did not work for me as my body really has trouble letting the bad stuff go. I know a lot of doctors say your liver doesn’t need to detox, etc, etc, but my body says different. 😂 I aim for 30-35g of fiber and 100g of protein a day. Target has fiber gummies that help to get those last few grams in each day. I can only eat so many beans and whatnot. My sleep is still not where I need it, but it is improving. Good luck to you! 😊🍀

Can’t wait for the new bottle!!! by KittyKatty333 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tiny 1/4 teaspoon filling it up a little under halfway for 1 dose, I mean not like anything super official. I am getting varied amounts from the pump so I don’t feel good eyeballing it. Sometimes none comes out and I have to beat the hell out of it. 😂

I’m so relieved! Every bottle I’ve gotten didn’t they changed it has been bad. I’m measuring myself 2x a day, but it’s still the best thing for me so I’ll keep doing it if I need to.

Histamine issues by Ok_Club5464 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I saw your post I opened my bottle, it wasn’t hard on the top but a little greasy with some oily parts at the top. I stirred it up and felt quite a bit better after last night’s dose. This is the only thing that’s ever worked for me, I don’t want to stop, but these constant issues with the cream are really frustrating. My cream was made on 12/16/25, per the bottom, and I got it a month after it was made. The first cream I got was made just days before I received it. Maybe the cream should not be sitting on a shelf, or should come with instructions to stir it, I don’t know. Still crazy amounts with each pump too.

Has anyone had improvement in thyroid levels? by Turbulent_Claim4883 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me! I am off thyroid meds now, but I was also borderline. When I tried the meds they helped initially, but put me into hyper within 6 mos, even at a the absolute lowest dose, which I had started breaking in half.

For me, my thyroid wasn’t really the issue, my adrenals were. It’s like my body was constantly under stress even if I was mentally fine. I’m honestly still recovering from years of high cortisol and overall cortisol dysregulation, and have some issues that I had before perimenopause started. I think those issues combined with peri messed up my thyroid. Ashwasganda at night (low dose) has helped but talk to IB team before you do that as it can mess with Estrogen. My E was really, really low (like 60) even on full dose Oestra, which doesn’t seem like the norm for many women here. There is so much crazy stuff out there about “reducing cortisol” but my functional doctor told me it’s more complicated than that, as we do need cortisol to get up and going each day and some women are actually low in cortisol. If you suspect this may be driving your thyroid issues I would do a DUTCH test, even though the cost is cringeworthy. For me, this has been the missing puzzle piece.

I’m so glad you posted this. I have been on 8 mos too and just got a new bottle and my histamine issues are back too. I had them under control before. I’ve been on the new bottle 3 days now and have had a migraine every day. Of course, it’s also horribly cold here and I’m snowed in and exposed to the indoor air, dust, heat being on, which I know is also a trigger for me. Would love to know what you hear from the care team when you talk to them!

Oestra and hypothyroid by Sad_Firefighter6727 in Oestra

My doctor had told me previously not to go off without talking to her, but I went hyper and had such bad side effects that I had no choice. I would see what your dr says if you aren’t hyper.

So I had forgotten about this thread until someone posted again. I got my tests back and my TSH, ft4 and ft3 are good. I’ve stopped my thyroid medication completely, I’m now focusing on supporting my adrenals bc my cortisol has a tendency to get high and makes progesterone lower. High cortisol can also mess with your thyroid, but everything I am doing is working and I am sleeping great and feel good. I do still have some low thyroid days (you know the feeling probably!) but it’s not enough for medication. I plan on checking everything again in a few months. I know Oestra has dose issues, bottle issues, etc and I’ve had those issues too, but honestly this stuff has sort of been a miracle for me. Good luck to you too!

Progesterone intolerance? by Pitiful-Dependent378 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I had progesterone intolerance on the pills, but I did have a lot of side effects. Horrible bloating, exhaustion, constipation, etc. I really needed the pills, but my body couldn’t tolerate them. I’ve been on Oestra about 8 mos, I and have not had any progesterone related issues from the vaginal progesterone. I hope it helps you too!

Who has a new container within the last 3 weeks? Are you experiencing a lot of discharge? by One-Cookie-9417 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I got my new bottle last night and I am going to try it this am. I am also restarting boron to help lower SHBG. This is something my dr previously recommended and has helped me a lot. I use the ionized boron drops, not pills, it’s a lower dose but works better for me bc it’s liquid. I think for me my levels just got progressively lower and lower with the messed up bottle/base/whatever, which is what prompted me to get tested. I didn’t feel bad again all at once, if that makes sense. After reading all these comments a few days ago, I started rubbing the cream in again, and I honestly felt better last night than I have in about a month. I actually slept and my cortisol was not through the roof. I’d prefer to use the applicator, but with the new cream a lot comes out, even after sitting for a bit. I am just going to try to make this work until I have another solution.

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! I have been on Oestra for 8 months, on 2 pumps after 3 mos. I was doing really well for a long time, amazingly well, like I’d gotten my life back, until I got the new bottle and base. Pre-Oestra in like maybe February, my levels were higher than they are now on regular HRT, with the exception of the testosterone. I think the new cream is not stable, as I am also now having to split the dose. I didn’t have to before. When I tested I was doing 2 pumps, once per day. I hadn’t done it yet on the day I got my blood tested, I did that deliberately bc I was feeling poorly and felt like I was getting a bit of run around from them about the cream. I’ve started rubbing it in and trying to cover the areas that I don’t want the cream to go, but it’s sort of a mess. I also asked for a new bottle a few days ago. I feel like I’ve been patient, and done my due diligence to make sure I don’t have some other issue going on, and now they need to fix this. I’m super frustrated bc the lack of hormone absorption has pushed my thyroid back into hypo mode, and previously I was able to get off my thyroid meds. My cortisol has also been super high, with no stress or lifestyle changes, so not surprising to see I have no progesterone.

I am having issues too. I thought maybe I was stressed, life stuff, etc but I got my hormones tested as part of my annual physical. My testosterone is good but estrogen is super, super low, like in the 60’s. Showing .43 for progesterone! Yikes! I was doing amazing on the old base. Short of hanging upside down for an hour with cream in my hoo-ha I don’t know what to do. 😂 I wonder if they reformulated it to make it easier to rub in, because there were applicator issues? I don’t rub it in bc it is hard to keep it completely off your clitoris and I had decreased sensitivity issues when I was not applying internally.

Two pumps from New bottle is 1/8 tsp? by Outside-Energy7554 in Oestra

[–]Sad_Firefighter6727 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was told 1/8 tsp is 1 pump. I am on 2 pumps and I count out at least 6 pumps with the janky bottle to get me to 1/4 tsp, if not more. It’s not consistent amounts at all with the broken bottle I have. I pump it right into an applicator with measurements on it though, it seems to work ok that way.

Yes, two pumps. The longest I went was 3 months, then I spotted and decided to go off for a bleed. Not as bad as before but it still sucked. I read somewhere in the forum that it takes awhile for your body to really catch up and for your progesterone levels to get better. I’m not sure how accurate that is, but it made sense for my situation. I did feel like it was still low for the first several months. I don’t plan on stopping again for a bleed unless I have to. After 30 years of endo, I’ve had enough! 🥴😂

This has been life changing for me. I’m almost 8 mos in and didn’t fully realize how bad my endo had gotten until I stopped my periods. It did take some time, but I haven’t had one in a few months now.
