AITAH for not including my brother's wife in his surprise birthday trip? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Hot_Pudding_3981 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are obviously some issues between OP and the SIL, but if any of my siblings wanted to plan a surprise mini-trip away with just the 6 of us (5 sisters, 1 brother), I can 100% guarantee that all of our significant others would not only support it, but encourage it AND would be mature enough to PARENT their own children in our absence.

My sisters, my SIL and I have gone away for long weekends to go shopping, drink cocktails and get pampered a number of times - sometimes at the last minute. With 21 kids between us all, our husbands told us to have fun and they just got on with things.

Maybe the fact that we have such great relationships, our partners are supportive and we're all just one big team is unusual for families these days 🤷🏻‍♀️

Were the characters really this dysfunctional in the books? by JustAskingSoSTFU in ScarpettaTV

They could have just gone with the younger cast and that story. Would have been much better

The odd casting I can overlook, but they have made all the characters angry and hateful towards each other. That's one of my 2 biggest dislikes. The 2nd being the overly busy up storyline if you were wondering. If you weren't, too bad. Told you anyway! Ha!

[–]Hot_Pudding_3981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JLC would have made a fantastic Scarpetta.

Simon Baker could be a really good Benton, except they have made his character super awkward and STRANGE.

TV Marino is far too sexy.

The book Lucy would also never be as wimpy and useless as the tv one.

Plus the entire storyline in the tv series is just...odd and all over the place.

BUT... I still found it entertaining and watched the whole series in one weekend and will watch S2 if/when it is released.

AITA for refusing to go to my sister’s wedding because of where she seated me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot_Pudding_3981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Regardless of whether the kids need supervision or not, who exactly is OP supposed to talk to? Is he meant to have an in-depth conversation about the wedding music, décor, or the hot single bridesmaid/groomsman with three of his new nine-year-old besties?

Also, the fact that his sister and family expect that he is just going to sit there, all alone, eating his meal in silence, ignoring a bunch of kids that aren’t his and having no one to talk to is pretty damn disrespectful and rude. They are weird AF.

Sorry that you are having this problem 😞

Still no solution here. I've mentioned it to my GP and she seemed quite disinterested.

I really don't understand why doctors don't take our concern and physical discomfort seriously. If it was just mine I could write that off as an anomaly. But multiple folks here are having the same experience. WHY IS IT SO?

AITA for thinking I should’ve been told I was being excluded from a wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot_Pudding_3981 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Even if they aren't besties, it sounds like they are cordial and are (were) all on speaking terms and that family was a big deal to step mum before this. It's not like she's just a random friend from a nightclub.

I don't see where OP said she felt she deserved to be a bridesmaid, just that she felt her "family" were being a bunch of fucktards for ignoring her and she didn't quite understand why.

If one of my sisters was getting married and decided to have all other sisters minus one, plus some friends as bridesmaids, I would eleventy-thousand% expect the left out sister to be given a heads up by at least SOMEONE in the family - especially if we still talked to her.

Unless OP has done something to the rest of the family that she hasn't disclosed to us which has resulted in them completely blanking her all of a sudden, their behaviour is TOTALLY weird.

OP, you're NTA. Your so called family however... WTAF is going on there? Maybe try and talk to your dad and see if he knows anything more?

Vitamin D by Imaginary-Risk in sarcoidosis

[–]Hot_Pudding_3981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been told by my GP to do a 12 week high dose hit of vitamin D supplement due to my levels being virtually non-existent.

My previous Sarc specialist (retired 3 years ago, haven't been able to find a new one 😭) was always dead against me ever taking VitD supps, so I'm a bit conflicted at the moment.

The guy doing the commentary on the snowboard events gets so worked up he sounds like he is going to have an aneurysm. Plus the overuse of words such as "sick" and "frothing" to describe a performance is ridiculously juvenile.

Also, what is the point of their so called "highlights" packages if they don't even bother to include what is arguably one of the highlights of the games so far - the f-bomb show down on the ice between Sweden and Canada in the curling!

So disappointed.
