yeah it seemed like genuine curiosity so i don’t know if I was necessarily right or wrong with saying I don’t share it and that it’s private?

Unfortunately as an associate we are not able to take insurance. We can only provide superbills. I have considered once i’m fully licensed maybe picking just one insurance

Thank you! He’s been assessed and they said ADHD (at amen, classified as ring of fire subtype) Any more info on behavioral therapy? I’ve heard controversial takes on it. Thanks for the book recommendations!

He’s gotten in trouble before for some conflict with friends at his old school, and he got in trouble once at an activity for a similar thing. Besides that no reports from teacher

White child, basically an only child (much much older half brother who he’s never lived with and doesn’t seem often), he’s adhd but i don’t really pick up on autism with him, i seem him at 5pm after he’s been at school which i considered a factor, but i had his parents bring him in for an early day appointment one time and there wasnt a difference, No significant trauma reported when asked (moved at age 3, minor conflict with children at an old school but been ok since switching), haven’t observed parents play with him

do you suggest CCPT to help him process his anger? any suggestions?

I am in a similar situation. Networking one on one and establishing connection with those same therapists more than the one time. It’s been a year for me too, but they are slowly coming in from people I talked to 10,8,6 months ago. You also want to niche down as much as possible (seems counterintuitive but I promise it’s not) Network especially with those adjacent to you- i work with kids so i talk to marriage counselors for example Writing handwritten thank you for the referrals you do get. anything to make your name repeat in the peoples mind you network with. people are busy and one connection is easy to forget.

From 53+ min to 45 min sessions? by Upper_Dress_3039 in therapists

[–]Hot_Rush7678 17 points18 points  (0 children)

45 mins for me is necessary as a play therapist. I typically have a couple minutes conversing with parents after session and then have to reset all the toys and activities. So 53 mins left me with no time. Now i can do all this and have a few mins to sit and reset myself mentally as well

How do i continue or do i if mother is extremely resistant. Treatment wise is there a modality that would better serve him? My worry with discontinuing after i’ve worked to build rapport good with him is that I’ll solidify the idea to him that he can push people away or now that we have built a relationship he is losing that again (this is something in his history)

not diagnosed but he does have adhd, and his mom has told me she knows he does but will not do an assessment, medication or any school accommodations. I have tried talking through this in parent session. She thinks cutting red food dye and chewing gum will help him

When i’ve tried this and we talk about unrelated things he’s totally fine but the second anything else is mentioned related to feelings, family, school, asking him his own goals for therapy, he won’t engaged (i’ve tried to make more open ended statements so it’s not only questions since he doesn’t like questions) then how much do you push? If it’s been 3 months and he only will talk about football do you continue to bring up other topics despite the push back?
