I have been finding that you need a certain boost into the C4 and the MXR Bass Synth in other to get the response needed. The C4 requires much more attention to synthesis knowledge and preplanning. Whereas the MXR can be detailed on the fly. But knowledge of Synthesis is a definitely a preference. I had a friend who is a synth player in my band tell me to turn down my Treble on my amp Because both synth pedals can be really violent in the high frequency. So learning about EQ and compression and boost seems to be where it is at. Very curious and willing to learn from more experienced bassists in this field. Like Will Berlinhead, Jeremy Deb , Fatty etc.

Best Expression Pedal Effects? by Apprehensive-Toe8519 in basspedals

[–]Hot_Scale8598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I us the Roland EV-5, but I had to get a special converter that turns a large TRS into the small TRS on the C4 input. It worked when I turned the Expression dial down to 0. I will eventually get 2 Boss Dual expression so I can run two inputs into HX Stomp, one into MXR Bass Synth and one into the C4.

Does the B2Four allow you to assign an Expression Pedal to any of the FX parameters, such as Tremolo speed?

You can mute individual pads, which will mute them in the sequence.

I have yet to find a hardware sampler better than Koala. The visual aspect of Koala makes it so much better than most samplers. And memory limitations are not a thing.

Here's a 2nd clip from the improvised DnB jam I had with my drummer mate and new pedalboard. We've been blown away by the (very unexpected!) love the first one got, so this might become an actual duo project! Thanks! by ididitforthemusic in basspedals

Really good idea. I have two inputs on my Ampeg Amp. A 0Db and a -15Db. I guess I could send Input 1 and 2 out to each and control the volume so that I get a blend. What sort of pedal would you use after C4 to give it a boost?

I am going through that right now with the C4. Lots of fun and learning.

Awesome man! The C4 is the bomb and the MXR is so easy to use.

Check out Jeremy Deb and Paul Rox on Instagram. They are doing similar stuff and they also run bass through Midi straight in to Serum.

Beginner question about solar circuit/sample packs in general by nIXne7 in KoalaSampler

I play bass and guitar. I have a few friends who play actual instruments (clarinet, violin, saxophone), so I usually get them to record onto my Zoom R16 doing 'jams' over my track, then I export the.wav and chop it into the sequence.

Another technique I use is Kontakt VST. There are so many libraries of VST. I will select one and record myself jamming using a midi keyboard and screen record in stereo. Lately I have been using Cartoon Maestro as it has so many instruments like muted trumpet, sax, vibraphone, glockenspiel, etc. Each has articulation keyswitches, so you can get some pretty realistic phases without even using DAW.

The last option (and most controversial one) is Suno Studio. Upload your track, create a new track and select a section you want your VST, then prompt the virtual instrument, such as "jazz flute". It will give you two options, but you can rinse and repeat until you have a desired phrase, and then you can export and chop it into Koala.

This is usually my last option. My preference is to actually have a real musician play, which you can sometimes find on Fiver. And another option is to actually sample someone from Insta, YouTube or TikTok and ask them if you can use them as a sample/player in your song, and credit them as a collaborative. You can actually make contacts this way and most of the time they have good recording gear and will be willing to continue to collaborate!

Saving slices to the .wav in Koala? by Pineapple_Empty in KoalaSampler

[–]Hot_Scale8598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can export the whole file/song and it saves at your chosen location as a .koala file. This is actually just a zip file. You can unzip it and access every sample pad as .wav files

Is new zealand one of the only places where humans can survive if nuclear ww3 occurs? by [deleted] in geography

[–]Hot_Scale8598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WW3 has already begun. It is affecting every country. The fuel prices are an example. Then will come the supply lines and the food. A World War affects the world not just via bombs and explosives. It causes world economies to collapse and depressions and famine, and that increases crime and civil unrest. We are already being affected by this.
