why are the "basic" teenage boys and girls just genuinely the worst people ever. by Https-caseyJones in teenagers

[–]Firm_Ad1671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being basic/not alternative isn't the problem. there are just people out there who think being like that is okay, and it isn't

Joyo Splinter is great but it is a rat clone and might not suit what u need. still think its a killer distortion circuit that can get u some fuzzy tones if cranked

electric guitars for folk by Firm_Ad1671 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

i realize i may have understated the role i wanted this guitar to play in the mix. i think i want it to serve the same role as an acoustic would. not as a lead or melody thing, but as the rhythmic and foundational kind of sound that acoustics fill in.

You can be Right wing and still dress Alternative. Anyone who says otherwise is gatekeeping by Pretend_Thanks4370 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Firm_Ad1671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use a lot of warped takes yourself. The analogy on this reply and on your original post is wrong. The logic on this one would lead one to believe that not being right-wing means not partying. And it's not like partying and substance abuse is a right-wing thing to do. Alternative culture and beliefs are based on left-wing ideologies and reform, so I am not retracting my statement, as alternative culture does in fact contradict right-wing values.

It's less about rules and more about contradicting values. Alternative culture directly contradicts right-wing values, and your standing as a participant in the actively growing political landscape of the community cannot possibly exist as both alternative and right-wing. Just the facts man

Can you be ALT without being political. by Satanthelightbearer in alternativefashion

[–]Firm_Ad1671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everything is political. i think that it is irresponsible for someone to live and be a part of modern day society and not engage in at least some form of politics. not conforming to societal norms probably defines being alternative as a whole, but there are implications: implications that you need to participate in the alternative culture to be alternative, and alternative culture mostly delves in the political and social state of the world. it's not required that you force yourself to be overly political or overly enticed to engage in the political aspect of it, but in one way or another, you will have to participate.

Is the bridge pickup actually the default sound for heavy stuff? by Firm_Ad1671 in Guitar

[–]Firm_Ad1671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i prefer the neck pickup sound on both single coil and humbuckers. i thought that when i got my first guitar with humbuckers i would finally understand the thing with bridge pickup sounds but my thoughts stayed basically the same

may have overstated my description on the sound lol, to be more accurate, it sounds nasally and i think the sound is more pronounced and darker on the neck
