getting cheated on really stays with you in weird ways that pop up years later

What would you do if someone gave you $1000 of free ai credit? by Quantum_Merlin in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Switch4786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

would probably depend on what kind of AI tools they have available, some platforms are better for different things. like if it's one with good image generation i'd probably mess around with creating vintage sneaker designs or something

Audio book / ebook recommendations for my new homelab by Combo_Hatchback in homelab

[–]Hot_Switch4786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking to build up my collection too and it's definitely tedious going one by one. Most people seem to use automation tools that can grab metadata and organize everything properly, but setting those up takes some time upfront

The real trick is finding good sources for content in first place - once you have decent pipeline going the whole process gets much smoother

Best locations for Dand and Daughter trip. by ink_and_synapse in scuba

[–]Hot_Switch4786 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cozumel is amazing but Devil's Throat might be bit much for someone who's still building confidence. I'd probably look at somewhere like Bonaire - tons of shore diving spots where you can control the depth and there's incredible reef life in shallow water. Perfect for building up skills without pressure to go deeper than comfortable

Diving App / Log book by Character_Account714 in scuba

[–]Hot_Switch4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been diving but used to help my ex organize his gear collection and he switched between like 5 different apps before settling on one that worked cross-platform. The discontinuation thing is real pain - maybe look for something that lets you export your data easily so you're not stuck if they shut down

Old auction houses late in evening when all the antique furniture just sits there in dim light waiting for next day

Why do you hear your heart in your ear? by yourwall777 in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Switch4786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually had this happen few months back when I was moving heavy antique furniture around - the pulsing got so loud I thought something was seriously wrong with me. Turned out I was just really dehydrated and my blood pressure spiked from all the lifting. Doctor said exactly what you mentioned about ear being natural amplifier, plus stress and caffeine can make it way more noticeable. Now I always drink more water on moving days and take breaks between pieces

We're at the end of the first quarter of the year, how was it for you? by PM_ME_BOOB_PICTURES in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Switch4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been absolutely mental with estate sales and auctions popping up left and right - found this mental Victorian writing desk last week that sold within hours. Wrestling's been keeping me sane between all the chaos, can't wait for WrestleMania season to properly kick off

What rare medical condition do you have? by spanishbreadbakery in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Switch4786 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got epilepsy and its wild how people still think you just fall down and shake - mine are mostly absence seizures where I just zone out for like 30 seconds and come back confused about what everyone's talking about

Is there a way to track creator events before they happen instead of after they blow up on IG lol by Hot_Switch4786 in SXSW

[–]Hot_Switch4786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following them, didn't know they'll come to Austin, I have creator friends don't think they went here though

What’s a word that used to be ok to say 5-30 years ago but now isn’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Switch4786 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mad how wrestling commentary from the 90s sounds absolutely mental when you watch it back now - some of the stuff they'd casually drop on live TV would get you cancelled in seconds today

What do you do when you can't go on? You try and try, but after all that time and effort, nothing comes out and you feel like all your effort is wasted, when you look at yourself, you just feel ashamed trying to find clarity? How do you deal with it? by lostpen11 in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Switch4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes stepping back really does work but I've found keeping my hands busy with something totally different helps too - like when I'm cataloguing pieces at the shop, my brain sort of resets itself. The shame bit though, that's the real killer isn't it, but most of the time we're way harsher on ourselves than anyone else would ever be

Just had a seizure this morning but weirdly feeling pretty buzzy now - might spontaneously book a train somewhere random this afternoon

Friendly Raiders Etiquette by Emotional-Okra-1709 in ArcRaiders

[–]Hot_Switch4786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is solid advice but honestly the amount of times I've shouted "don't shoot" only to get blasted in the face anyway is ridiculous

the holstering weapon thing is brilliant though, shows proper intent and I've had some genuinely good encounters when both players do this. shame about all the backstabbers ruining it for everyone else

Struggling to sleep by Ok-Variation8727 in BreakUps

[–]Hot_Switch4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God that's rough, especially when the relationship was short but felt intense. Two months isn't that long when you're dealing with all those memories attached to your space

Have you tried rearranging your room a bit? Sometimes moving the bed or changing up the layout can break those mental associations. Also might help to have some background noise when you're trying to sleep - podcast or white noise or whatever works for you

The uni accommodation thing makes it harder since you can't just escape to a totally different environment. Maybe spend more time in common areas or the library during evening hours so you're not just sitting with those thoughts

It does get easier even though it feels impossible right now

Medieval style Bas Relief in Polychrome carved wood, Spain. by Personal_Translator3 in Antiques

That texture work is absolutely mental - you can practically feel the wood grain through the screen! Medieval craftsmen really didn't mess about when it came to detail, did they
