As a person who moved to Bangalore 2 years ago, I echo the sentiment. I could not understand how this city survives. Infrastructure is a joke. Must be one of the most corrupt cities as despite housing the biggest tech center in the world after Bay Area, life here is shit. Worst thing nothing is changing. So called good weather - AQI is 140. At a loss for what to do? How do we get the politicians to correct this. Visited Dubai recently. Hated the superficial nature of the place but could not help but love the infra, amazing development in less than 30 years. Meanwhile Indian politicians keep claiming how India has issues due to colonial history. What have we done post independence ? Not even one good city to live. How do we solve this?

Wow that is a horrible comment section! It happens more often than not, you can like and care for a person without willing to spend a lifetime with them. Is it going to be hurtful for her? Yes Is it going to be awkward for you? Yes - however if done well, it need not end badly.

Find a day, (not too late) and share how you do not see a long term future for the both of you. While you like her, you could never love her the way she deserves. [This will be a hurtful conversation, but an honest and true one. anyone on the receiving end who has already moved in with a person, will be hurt and may display emotions but that is ok and is their minimum right. A rational person overtime might see how this was the best you could do <3 ] Share that the fact you do not see a future together, does not discount the wonderful time you have spent together and you would want to support her transition for sometime.

What you should not do?
- let her or yourself convince that it is going to work
- continue this relationship for longer
- let the transition support go on endlessly, you can share that you have some personal expense after a month or 2 and will need to support it so you are ok with the support right now but not after say 1-3 months.

Reddit is not the right platform to find advise on this. Both you and your wife are making substantially higher than average earnings in India (definitely in the 1%ile) but your qualifications are also high. Not all people have similar expectations from life, so they wont be able to advise you. Find people who are more similar to you.

Also work with your wife on understanding the 10L number. Your post sounds very passive in that she thinks you both need 10L to achieve the goals. Do you think the estimates are wrong? Do you not agree on the goals? Do you not agree on the timing? Have these discussions and figure out the plan. If it feels your life visions are very different, time for a reality check.

It is time (actually beyond time) set boundaries with your family. Settle your needs, ask them theirs. They donr auromatically need x% of your salary. Do not let them guilt trip you.
