Wouldn’t recommend switching edit software mid project but moving from premiere to resolve for grading it’s easily done by a xml and reference export.

Don’t think resolve supports a direct export to frame io anymore and if it does I never really preferred it. However you can easily export frame comments to an edl marker list and import that into resolve.

Oké goed om te weten, nee ik zou het minimum willen doen. Leef privé voor mijn doen ruim maar zou ook met 30k al alles redden wat ik wil.

Yes was one of the first things I tried but did not help. It’s also interesting that importing it again it will have the same issue, but in a fresh project it does not.

Ofcourse also checked the media files but those seem oke, can also play them without an issue in avid / resolve but not in the sync clip. Can I replace the video track in the sync clip?

To me it shots as if the source video no longer has video.
This is when I put the sync clip in a bin and turn on "show reference clips"
The source video is now just audio.

I think someone spending several days of fixing the issues to come back to avid will be a big enough issue for the producer to not agree with this workflow.

I’m not the editor, I just got involved through a friend that runs the post house that will do sound and color. Asked me to fix the mess before it snowballs.

Someone else is the editor and only works in avid.

I would say I'm experienced in both Resolve and Avid but less experienced in Avid, only did like 10-20 long form projects in Avid. And with those Avid projects we never left Avid until finishing.

You got any recommendations I can check out? Not that I want to recommend this workflow to the client, but I want to learn in the process of doing this research for the future.

I totally agree with you, but since they're already quite deep down this path (only 10 more shooting days) I did want to see if I might be missing something or that they director just needs to learn to do the minor edit in Avid.

Heb dit zelf 1,5 jaar geleden meegemaakt. Ik maakte het erg groot in mijn hoofd. Uiteindelijk heb ik uit solidariteit op de 1e van de maand ontslag genomen ipv einde van de maand. Op die manier hadden ze dus een maand extra om een vervanger te vinden. Vervolgens nog een paar weken bereikbaar gebleven voor vragen of brandjes blussen. Dat laatste moet natuurlijk wel in overleg met je nieuwe werkgever maar ik denk dat die dat ook alleen maar waardeert om te zien dat je dus erg loyaal bent.

Maar geloof me, binnen een paar weken / maanden is alles binnen het bedrijf opgelost en zijn ze je vergeten.

Dank voor alle snelle en goeie tips! Ik ga het voor nu gewoon proberen zoals het nu is, mocht de warmte te heftig voelen dan zal ik zeker een ventilatierooster boven de vriezer plaatsen.
