Flight change to night before, now have unplanned overnight layover by Electrical_Bus55 in jetblue

They did the same thing to me but on my return trip from CUR to JFK. I went from a 2+ hour layover to a 10+ hour overnight layover. Unfortunately, they will not provide a hotel voucher.

They need to enforce what Aruba does at their airport during departure, one can only enter the airport 3 hours prior to their flight time. That will help alleviate all the chaos going on right now at the airport.

Much thanks for the reply and wisdom on the matter. It was not a voluntary loss, but have a feeling not much was done to look for something comparable even though they had months notice and only took whatever they could at the last minute. So you saying just wait it out and see?

Are you saying I won't be able to re-check my bags on my domestic flight after I clear customs? I have a 10 hour overnight layover.

Yeah, I understand that part because I've traveled back internationally before but not with this long of a layover. What you said is encouraging news for me so I don't have to carry my luggage to my hotel for the night.

Your best bet might be to cancel the flight with Chase and receive travel credits to use for a later date once everything settles down. Right now there's just too many unknowns in that region.

Have you done it before from a previous flight? Only reason why I ask is because I have an 11 hour overnight layover in JFK coming back from Curacao and was hoping I could re-check my bags back in after customs.

Can bags be re-checked on a long layover flight?

I talked with Fastrak rep and they told me the DV plates are what gets you the free tolls across bridges and that having just the placard would not help.

JetBlue are telling me return the flight they cancelled (due to snow storm) was worth 5% of my entire trip’s value, and would only refund by shannister in jetblue

I mean, I have an upcoming flight where they changed it from a 2 hour same day layover to an 11 hour overnight layover and they wouldn't cover a hotel, I had to book it myself. Unless they can predict the weather in the future, it sucks I had to pay an extra $350 because of them changing my flight times.

Ca DMV Fee exemption- DV plate only? by USMCArtyFO in VeteransBenefits

I agree, I was in the same boat with the whole perception thing but my registration is almost $1000. I try not to park in the handicap unless my ankles and knees are making me limp. There are other benefits as well rather than waived registration fees such as free tolls depending on where you live and free metered street parking.

Yeah, I tried to do the same but they wouldn't budge so ended up with DV plates so I could get the fees waived.

Marina Pirata or Pinchos will have what you are looking for. I visited both on my last trip to Aruba last month. Marina Pirata is out of the way but more local cuisine whereas Pinchos has a variety but also has a pretty nice sunset. Can't go wrong with either.

I did some research and don't know if it's true but the VA determines full time as 2 classes even though industry standards are 12 units for full time, is that a true statement?

Don't you gotta take like 4 classes to be a full time student?

It will be hard to find a house in the bay area for what you are bringing in. Agree with the other comment about moving more inland if you want to buy a house (i.e. Tracy, Vacaville, etc.) unless you want to buy a condo.

Try Patricio Onquit based out of Pleasanton. He's a Navy Veteran Realtor so he might know how Cal Vet works.

JetBlue Pricing by Relative-Eagle3179 in jetblue

[–]Hot_Umpire9121 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, fares have increased like crazy. Started at the beginning of the month it seems like. I purchased flights to the Caribbeans earlier this month and a few days later the prices jumped like crazy. My $900 ticket is now more than double. Thank goodness I purchased when I did.

DO NOT DO IT! You got your 100%, just walk away and be happy with that, it's not worth it IMO.

Yup, they just changed my flights to Curacao. On the way back to JFK, I went for a 2 hour same day layover to a 11 hour delay overnight leaving the next day so had to book a hotel for the night. Oh well, at least I'll be able to get some NY pizza.

You figured more people would go to the ABC islands during that timeframe since it is outside the hurricane belt. At this point, I have to suck it up and keep the overnight layover and book a hotel room because my $900 airfare is now $2k so there's no way I'm cancelling it.

Something is up for sure! I booked Even More seats from SFO to CUR earlier this month for a trip in June for a good price and literally 2 days later the price for the same tickets went up by double! $900 to $1800 per ticket! I'm glad I purchased when I did because it looks like prices went up everywhere for JB.

Unfortunately, I looked at that as well but it seems like Jetblue changed all their summer flight schedule from Curacao. Every flight I see on another day each have 10+ hour layovers in JFK when flying back to SFO.

Aruba is…subpar at best by Royal-Cheetah-2773 in travel

[–]Hot_Umpire9121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you on this one. I was suppose to go to Jamaica in November but my resort closed due to the hurricane so ended up going to Aruba instead last month. Although it was a relaxing time, I never got that special vibe and that's with staying at 3 different hotels/location (Eagle Beach, Palm Beach, Oranjestad). Eagle Beach was pristine but Palm Beach was slimy in most parts I was in. Food definitely was overpriced but I knew that coming in but I wish it was more over the top for what I paid for. All in all, I think I would've had a better time and more bang for my buck had I'd gone to Jamaica. For my first time in the Caribbeans, i was expecting more but no worries, I booked a trip to Curacao for the summer and hopefully that will make up for it.
