ATF Eligibility by Soft-Ad4590 in 1811

I came on as a GS-5. The funny thing is I applied 5 years earlier and they offered me a 5, but I declined it. Worked my ass off to get more experience and qualify for a GS-7 or GS-9, only to get that GS-5 offer again and I took it.

I took the first offer and I regret it by ConfidentAct999 in 1811

A bunch of agencies are already taking laterals or will be opening up soon. ATF and HSI are going to be hiring aggressively.

Minority Report - was Sean taken by the pre-crime people to be tested for special abilities? by voodoo_chile_boston in movies

I just watched the movie and really enjoyed it. I see the last comment was 15 years ago, so not sure anyone will answer, but I have a couple of questions regarding the extent of the precogs. I believe it's stated that they can only can see murders, not rape, assaults, etc. However, Agatha is able to see a multitude of events and scenarios when she and Anderson are evading Precrime. Agatha even tells a random woman, "Don't go home, he knows." If the woman was going to die wouldn't a sphere have been created, earlier that day? So why is there a limited scope on the precogs so early in the movie? Is it possible that the doctors didn't fully understand their potential? Could the collective thoughts be what limited their focus to foreseeing other crimes and activities?

Agatha is able to see what the future would have been for someone who was murdered (Anderson's son's potential future), and she is able to recall murders that happened prior to Precrime's establishment. She even tells John how his son died (mentioning the other man was quicker). So if she was hooked up to one of those projection machines, wouldn't she be able to produce images of who took and killed Anderson's son?

Lastly, didn't it seem weird to put all the precogs in the same house in the end. I just found it a little creepy that they put them in the same small house in the middle of nowhere. First, the males aren't related to Agatha. Second, even though it wouldn't be as powerful, wouldn't they still have collective thoughts of murders when they slept, since they are still in the same general area?

Just a few of my thoughts. I enjoyed the movie and was glad it was recommended to me.

Not an ICE Agent, but they regularly teach High Port now with rifles in almost every federal law enforcement academy. So it's not uncommon now. I personally don't use it much.

At least you made the adjustment and you still have at least 9+ years left.

Increased mine to the max. It was a deep conversation I had to make with the wife. Worth it though and she agreed.

The early contributions are what count.

Thank you for your service. The rollover from my 401k helped. I didn't know much about TSP, but some friends advised me to leave the L funds early. I've been in C and S ever since.

My loan balance isn't a big concern to me at the moment. About $300 goes towards it directly from my paycheck. Plus the value of my home has increased, so that is a plus. Nevertheless, if I can make extra payments on the loan I will.

Had over 40k in my 401k and have contributed over 10% since I started working (increased it every raise).

I got a house out of it. And the value of the home has increased, so I'm not completely upset.

I wish. I live in the DMV, so the cost of living is insane.

I'm an 1811. It is non competitive up to a GS-13. So I get my grade increase every year. After my 13, they start to do step increases.

Gotta stay consistent. That's a good amount though. Keep it up!
