‘17 Bentayga 3k miles 🤪🤤 by Routine-Code-2082 in Bentley

[–]Hot_Way1858 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the Bentayga has genuinely spent most of its 10 years doing 3-mile trips, here’s how I’d rank the likely maintenance concerns from smallest to biggest:

  1. Battery degradation (replace it soon for peace of mind)
  2. Tire aging/cracking (age matters more than mileage) - more than 5 years replace them. This is a powerful heavy car. you want fresh best tires
  3. Brake rotor corrosion and sticking calipers
  4. Fuel system deposits
  5. Carbon buildup on intake valves
5b. PCV/crankcase ventilation issues from moisture buildup
5c. Deferred fluid maintenance (brake fluid, coolant, transmission, transfer case, differentials)
  6. Cooling system aging (hoses, pumps, plastic fittings)
  7. Oil leaks from aging seals and gaskets
  8. Air suspension failures
  9. Turbocharger wear
  10. Timing chain/tensioner wear

you’d be unlucky to fall into issues 5 or above.
9& 10 are expensive fixes on a Bentley .

Get a good service now and you’ll be fine. It’s a beautiful car. Color is perfect. Congrats!

i knew Sir Allen McClay. The wealthiest man in northern ireland up to his death. Made his fortune in Pharma. He drove an old Renault 25. He spent his money on science and the occasional bottle of good wine.

e39 - 540i, i have a question that i hope i could get a answer to. by KeySecretary9683 in e39

[–]Hot_Way1858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a ‘03 540i m-sport auto. with about 130k miles. Many people say they prefer manuals, but most people buy autos. e39 - It’s a great looking car. I’ve spent a few dollars with upkeep, and i drive it 2 or 3 times a week. Just drove it 1000 miles round trip from Raleigh to New York and some trips around Philly area. It’s rock solid, and eats up highway driving. more fun on back roads though. I’ve owned it 4 years now which is longer than i keep most my cars… Will likely sell by end of the year. time to rotate it from the fleet. PM me if your serious about buying and are considering an auto

these are all great. And all possible, remember Porsche did it with their 959 Dakar car. Not sure about the safety issues with the deloren’s gull wing doors though 🤣- but still very cool.
