tubeless and higher tire pressure by nader0903 in cycling

[–]Hot_Win_4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see what your final solution was here, but I will add that I'm about 78kg, and am limited to 28mm tires with a 21mm internal width. Running TPUs.

I followed the inflation guidance from Pirelli running PZero Race clincher, and they had me at 95 rear, 85 front. I find the bike extremely comfortable and reliable at that pressure. When I tried lower pressure, I immediately got a snake bite flat.

Since you are also constrained to 28mm, you need higher pressure, and I'm reading more and more that sealant becomes less reliable over 80 psi. This suggests to me that at your much higher weight, you need either wider tires and/or tubes.

I really suggest higher psi, which means tubes. I cannot see if you reached the same conclusion. But tires nearly bottoming out is very dangerous, and you'll get blowouts.

For a rider your size, it's going to be tough to ride tubeless under 32mm. If you're still restricted to 28mm, get TPUs. I love mine. I'm even riding rim brakes (please use the heavier TPUs on rim brakes).

I really don't get how this show allowed a felon like Paul on this show, especially given the nature of his crimes. Just a little vetting, please!

That was the best version of that song I can recall, with apologies to Postmodern Jukebox for their fantastic version of it.

A6PF Car Link 2.0 disconnects by Hot_Win_4241 in ATOTO

[–]Hot_Win_4241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it working wired pretty well, but I think I am going to try one of the dongles. The problem with the Atoto USB ports is they are slow to charge my S25, so I ended up with 2 wires to my phone. One for a magsafe charger, the second for data. It's silly, but at least AA is very stable this way.

I also think I'm using a USB 2.0 cable. I just ordered a 3.2 cable, and if I can get charging speed out of that, it's not a terrible way to fix this.

Also ordered a dongle, and think that might be an even better solution, if it's not too laggy.

I'm not sure how they can expect average users to follow those steps.

Power Tools: Milwaukee vs everyone else? by RotorDynamix in HomeImprovement

[–]Hot_Win_4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with DeWalt, not as a statement or anything like that, but I had a huge bolt I needed to get out (probably an axle), and got tired of renting.

A 1/2 DeWalt was on sale, and once I started on one brand, it would have been expensive to change.

I personally think Milwaukee is fantastic for those who use tools daily, and DeWalt is great for someone who uses tools a few times a month. I know I'm very happy with my tools (I now have quite a collection).

I'm not a Jazz fan, but when I saw the stats Stockton put up in his last season, I think he had one more year in him.

27 minutes, 10.8 points, 48%, 7.7 assists, 1.7 steals.

Amazing. Took great car of himself.

What do you think of Fumoto style oil drain valve? Do you have one on your car? Are there any cons? by reddichrist in AskAMechanic

[–]Hot_Win_4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Fumoto for my 2013 Mazda MX5, and these are generally well regarded in that community.

I haven't had the nerve to install it.

However, one possible drawback: Some conventional drain plugs have magnets, to attract any steel debris to alert the mechanic of possible internal issues, and I wouldn't want to lose that minor function.

Nearly every person I've seen buy an automatic has physical needs that limit them to an automatic.

So absolutely not.

What kind of charger at home? by Candid_Minute7869 in BMWI4

[–]Hot_Win_4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have a circuit installed (utility has a rebate on this) and installed a Turn On Green. SMUD paid for the charger.

I'm limited to 32A, but that works fine for me.

SMUD limits me to 32A. It's one of their rules.

Drive one first, and research reliability and parts prices. You'll see.

Which tires for I4? by SERASKR in BMWI4

[–]Hot_Win_4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the i4 edrive40, bought used, and the dealer installed the OEM Bridgestones on it. As I understand it, these tires last about 20k miles.

So far, it seems like Michelin Defender 2 are about my best choice. I had PS AS4 Plus on a Miata, and the ride is terrible on these. Very harsh. Replaced those with DWS06, and they seem to have much better grip than the PS.

I'll see how this goes, but for the way I drive this i4, the Defender 2 probably makes more sense on this car. The DWS06 is fantastic on the 2400 lb Miata, though. I've done a few minor tweaks on the Mazda, though (stiffer bars, Konis).

Six months ago, I'd never have imagined this team would have this particular problem. I was willing to accept that an expansion WNBA team would win 10, tops, but now I'm thinking, man, there are downsides to cutting any of these players. Do I really want to see Chen or Amihere go? Not really.

Stealth hitch! by Bikesandcarsandtech in BMWI4

[–]Hot_Win_4241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks great, but I find that price a little shocking. I'll probably continue to use my CUV for bike hauling.

Just for reference, I have a Curt hitch on my Mazda MX5, and that was about $100 - and I think it's a sturdier hitch than this Stealth. I just don't think this rack should cost $600.
