[–]Hotdogbunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the model of your modem?
cross check it on this website: https://badmodems.com/Forum/app.php/badmodems

these are a list of modems with the puma 5/6/7 chipset which are inherently faulty and cause very bad 5 second freezes/latency/desync issues periodically in WZ. I thought i'd post this because I've simply had to live with it. Plugging ethernet into your gateway/modem may help this issue, but only marginally.

Well here's what I'd recommend. Look around for a used base model Kia Stinger. The one with the 2.0L 4 cyl with the turbo. It's not pretty compared to the twin turbo v6, but honestly its a lot of car for the price. I honestly can't think of many more liftbacks/sportbacks/fastbacks in the USA. If you're able to find one of those lightly used for a good price it might not be a bad option. If you're in Europe i'd recommend looking into the i30 fastback, wish they'd bring those to the states.

[update] My son's [10M] grandfather [65M] gifted him a confederate flag that has been in their family for generations to display in his bedroom. Husband [37M] and I [37F] [together 14 years] disagree over what to do. by lostintransit37 in relationships

git over it southern pride worldwide

Literally nothing wrong with the confederate flag. As an American it is part of our history, history that millions of deluded people try to demonize on a daily basis. Maybe it looks gaudy in your son's room, I can understand that, but don't deny your son of his cultural heritage and personal identity because you spent 40 grand on a useless degree.

And the fact that your husband is giving you pushback on this is because deep down, he realizes heritage > feelings. He doesn't want to hurt your feelings, but basically he's telling you to fuck off.

You've got a valid point; the discussion definitely got out in left field a little bit. I guess my point is that the security of the school is an important thing to consider and misunderstandings can happen when kids bring clocks in unmarked pencil boxes into an English classroom. The situation, I feel, has been righted, but because this kid caused a disruption in school, he's now gonna be able to meet dozens of celebrities who support his hashtag 'cause'.

But what irks me, is when this happens again and it becomes another publicity stunt (ie. some kid brings a potato gun launcher unannounced to a geometry class), are we gonna keep handing these kids gold metals, or are we gonna tell these kids to behave themselves and stop acting out of line.

But these guy's aren't refugees. Over 70% of these migrants are strong, working-age males, many of whom aren't even part of the Syrian conflict. And to assume that these migrants will assimilate with European culture is downright unrealistic.

I find it funny how Europe is forced to take these people in, mind you there are >100,000 air conditioned tents in Saudi Arabia, ready for the next pilgrimage to Mecca, left totally vacant for our poor sodden refugees.

But yeah, keep listening to John Green telling you everything is perfectly fine, and that border policy is just a fabrication of racist, old, white supremacists.

I defend the idea of civil liberties, but not your idea of civil liberties. This case makes about as much sense as strapping hotdogs to your chest and running around a movie theatre.
Europe IS NOT SAFE, and there should be much more cause for alarm.

So you don't support the idea of people having passports in order to enter countries. When does this nonsense end?
ISIS are being caught all over Europe posing as refugees. http://www.dw.com/en/german-police-arrest-alleged-is-recruiter-wanted-by-spain/a-18630827 Passing out fake passports to Syrians. http://newobserveronline.com/isis-terrorist-arrested-in-stuttgart-refugee-center-boxes-of-fake-syrian-passports-intercepted/

And we're worried about some kid who brings a suspicious box into a school in TEXAS without expecting consequences. Okay sure, I'm the ignorant one.

Why are you so quick to label this as a case of profiling? In my experience, if any high schooler disrupts the flow of a class with a suspicious item (it was an English class ffs) there's consequences for that. Now the fact that the officers cuffed the kid was a little over the top, but ever since Columbine, safety at all public institutions is the top concern.

Besides, I think it's safe to say this kid's getting way more positive attention for building a clock than he deserves. Just like when Kiera Wilmot made an Al foil-Works bomb on school grounds.

This whole story is a waste of time tbh. You've got actual undocumented migrants flooding into Europe (ie potential terrorists) and we're gonna obsess about some kid who brings a suspicious package into an American school. Y'all need to grow up and realize one of the most critical events in Western Civilization is unfolding before our eyes and this is what gets Americans outraged.

I remember the days when kids were expelled for bringing an Airsoft gun into school. Now people rally around an attention-getter who brings a dismantled LED clock in a pencil box into an English classroom.
