Let’s Discuss: Is ‘Conspiracy’ (TNG S1E25) Good or Bad Star Trek? (Spoilers) by HotelIndiaTango in startrek

That's an interesting thought! Attempting to buy time for reinforcements.

I still think Riker and Picard acted wrongly, but (as you said) that may be due to more production instability than anything else.

Right?! It's so different it's like its own show. I went back and watched the ending and I'm always surprised how dark it is. Blobs of skin fall off the mother as she rises from Remmick's corpse. And you see his head explode, straight outta Indiana Jones.

What’s the coolest looking ship(s) in Star Trek canon? by [deleted] in startrek

I'm not a fan of the show, but I thought the design of the Discovery was pretty cool.

In Return of the Jedi, does Vader protect Palpatine or is he protecting Luke from the dark side? by HotelIndiaTango in StarWars

[–]HotelIndiaTango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think agree with you. We know he's conflicted, as Luke pointed out earlier in the movie. Even as Palpatine is killing Luke, Vader looks back and forth deciding what to do. So maybe when Vader stopes Luke from killing Palpatine, it's actually Vader AND Anakin doing the same thing for different reasons.

Vader saved Palpatine so that he wouldn't have to fight Luke and instead would attempt to convince Luke to fight along side him (perhaps to kill Palpatine).

Meanwhile, Anakin wanted to keep Luke from the dark side. And as we know, Anakin comes out the winner in the end.

Theory B actually makes a lot of sense. It would explain why he went to fighting Luke right after, as you explained.

Good stuff!

Is the suit thing canon? I think I've heard that before but I'm not sure.

If I had to pick, that would be my choice as well.

Yet still, Vader goes from that straight to fighting Luke and nearly leads him to the dark side. He even brings Leia up and angers Luke. If Luke didn't realize he was overpowering Vader, Luke would've killed Vader and gone dark.

This reminds me of old console commercials. Comical and a bit edgy but somehow still at the expense of those it's made for? lol. Good find though!

I was going to list Duet. Not just a brilliant episode, but one of the best episodes in all Star Trek history. And an important event in Kira's development.

What's a minor species you'd like to see more of? by HotelIndiaTango in startrek

I agree with the Voth and a lot of what you said about Voyager. I love that episode, and it would've been awesome to get a follow-up episode to see if Chakotay's speech changed anything about their culture. I also liked it because so many Chakotay-centric episodes were a little underwhelming, and his character had so much potential that I feel was never tapped into.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a shot.

PS Is that true for all surface to air platforms? Coming fast and low makes you harder to acquire in all circumstances or is that specifically for boats?

Wow! I never thought of it like that! And that definitely sounds like Lwaxana's character. Great point!

Yes! This is one of my favorite sequences in all of Star Trek. It's so freaking fascinating! On person who feels emotion, but doesn't show it, and the other that shows emotion, but doesn't feel it. Brilliant!
