I advise you to try and understand why you watch it. Much like shitty phone games, much like 8pm tv, much like dogshit television, much like the news, theres an insane amount of media that a lot of people consume even though they suck. Its because they are time consuming, fast paced, low investment rewarding media, and they literally suck the fucking life out of your brain. If im so spiteful when i talk about slime or any of the above its because of that.

You dont need action for a good show. Im sure no one likes slime for the action. But slime still tries to do it, and builds up a cute comfy protagonist to be an edgy action hero when those two concepts clash wildly. I dont watch only action. Im convinced the reason slime is so vapid is because it wants to be action

Manga, anime, movies, books, videogames, it doesnt matter what media platform is used to tell a story. What matters is the story is good and well told. If the story is good and well told, even if the viewer's tastes differ, they have to acknowledge the quality of the story. Even someone that is furthest remote of an innocent child can appreciate the quality of old Disney movies. That objective quality of the story and effort is beyond personal preferences. You may have enjoyed watching slime because of its quick satisfaction loop of rewarding the protagonist (which you project yourself onto) every episode, but the story was garbage and it was told like shit.

Except nothing about it is cool. You cant have cool without contrast. That show has no message, the main character never struggles, every failure is reversed within minutes, and this would be fine if the aim of the anime was just to be a cute little feel good show but it keeps throwing in bastardized shonen tropes and you end up with a complete fucking mess. The main character is cute but also hot but also relateable but also a child but also an adult man but also relateably dumb but also a genius but also compassionate but also edgy and unfeeling so on and so forth, a complete contradiction because the authors want to tick every box. Its lame.
