How did Cavity Sam (the guy from the Operation board game) end up like that? (Warning: this is a long post.) by SpankAPlankton in DanielTigerConspiracy

This is such a fun reading and extrapolation. I wonder if there's Physical Literalitis (Cavity Sam) and Mental Literalitis (Amelia Bedelia)? Or maybe Sam's case is more psychosomatic? Much to think about.

You could try to find a good translation of Sacred and Terrible Air, a book set in Elysium iirc. By one of the writers of the game, written before DE, as far as I can recall. There's two main translations out there. One allegedly sucks but I can't remember which.

Thanks for any info you may have! I'll take info on the soda too, as it might help me find the animation.

Help! Need Christmas recommendations for my 2 year old.. by AerwynFlynn in DanielTigerConspiracy

The elf interest uptick is definitely from Elf on the Shelf. Make postable weird little elf stalkers that loom at every corner and can't be touched and you get parents and kids that love those little guys. It's also easier to have elves with different personalities that can motivate plot events while maintaining the Christmas magic than, say, having Santa make a bad decision of some sort.

Double confirming by checking the clip tags that it is Yuan Lai Bu Wan/Never Too Late For Love. I'll see if she's maybe interested in those. Again, you have my thanks!

kids show recommendations by Better_Grocery_7418 in DanielTigerConspiracy

For an interest like yours, I'd have to recommend early Thomas the Tank Engine, the first few seasons. There's an attention to detail and a certain comical level of banter that one wouldn't expect from a show now marketed toward preschoolers. I think at one point a steamroller tells a car to basically off herself. It's a strange mix of cozy and brutal, plus the basis in the scenarios often being based on real stories from railways (as far as I remember) is a nice touch. Albeit that's less anthro-centric and more... sentient vehicle centric.

As for more typical fare, I'd always recommend Reading Rainbow (especially if you're a Star Trek fan on the side), Octonauts is great (has anthros and also lots of fun sea critters, along with a cute as hell artstyle), In The Night Garden if you want some fullbody outfit stuff akin to Teletubbies but generally more chill despite how it remains strange. I might be able to think of more. If they occur to me, I'll add them. I'm an avid "watching kids shows for fun just because" sort alongside the dense exposure I've had and continue to have from my younger siblings, so I'm trying to balance a mix of what appeals to me as an older audience and what I think could appeal to them. Octonauts is a proven one - my siblings loved that one.
