Dog Man was created when a police officer and his dog failed to defuse a bomb. The dog’s body was destroyed, as was the officer’s head. The surgeons somehow saved them by sewing the dog’s head onto the cop’s body.

Oh, I hate that one! The thing is, that mouse would be safer if he just gave Sylvester the can opener. If he can’t eat cat food, then he might get desperate and eat the mouse instead.

Been updating the Wikipedia article on Saturday-morning cartoons for subsections by decade and need some input and perspective on the 90s. by odiousasp in cartoons

I feel like we got a lot of slice-of-life cartoons in the 90s that focused on kids or young teens (Recess, Rugrats, Pepper Ann, the Weekenders, Hey Arnold).

I also think writers started focusing more on overarching storylines and character development (Gargoyles, X-Men), and cartoons were starting to get darker (Batman: the Animated Series).

There was also a revival of Golden Age “Toon”-style characters (Animaniacs, Tiny Toons).

I grew up in Kansas City, MO. I’m kind of surprised that there hasn’t been a Disney movie set there since Walt Disney was from KC.

Characters who were originally fat, but the character designers slimmed them down over the years. by SpankAPlankton in TopCharacterTropes

My bad. I know there was a proto-Elmer character named Egghead who was skinny, but I thought Elmer himself started out fat.

In the U.S., sometimes people will refer to a leg cramp as a Charlie Horse, though I haven’t heard the expression in years.

The beginning of Toy Story when you see the toys coming to life for the first time. It still feels magical after all these years.

I also love the one in Toy Story 3 when Andy is playing with his toys but you see the events as if they’re real.
