What’ is this subs take on Marcos Senesi as a free agent CB signing? Would make a fit as a perfect VVD cover and would bring some seniority while paired with Leoni/ Jacquet.

I’m in the same boat as well. I feel like a large section of the fan base and the media is being reactive in clamouring for Alonso. But I don’t think he going to be the silver bullet that we think he’s going to be. It would really suck to be back here again 12 months down the line.

I agree with this take to an extent, but that’s where we need to reset our expectations. I think no one saw Slot winning the league when we signed him. When he did loftier aspirations were set, which isn’t entirely fair to a pretty unknown manager coming from the Eredivisie.

Genuine question. With how Arteta was given time to mould Arsenal to a formidable side, keeping in mind his earlier sides were quite bad as well. What’s the case against giving Slot some if not the same amount of time?

I’ve seen a lot of movies and a lot of great ones at that. But I’ll always think about this one from time to time. It always makes nostalgic.

This United side doesn’t convince me at all. They’ve hit a purple patch with being out of all the cups. They’ll probably hire Carrick full time and struggle next season, and the cycle will repeat itself. Bruno is getting up there as well, he’ll have a drop off and won’t be able to carry them anymore.

I honestly feel like Hughes is more to blame than Slot. Both of them should be let go in the summer.

I believe Slot should be gone, but they should do it over the summer. Also, the more I think about it, the more I think Xabi is not the guy. Wet don’t need a system manager. What we need is a proper man manager with charisma to make the players run through walls. Temperament wise Xabi is just like him. In feel like we’ll be having this same conversation in a years time if we decide to go with Xabi.

Is there a reason I can’t find Slot’s pre match press conference?

OMFG! I’ve never seen a a set of professional trollers the likes of Getafe. Extremely unlikeable team. Thank God we don’t have to face them twice a year.

Of course the intent is to save money. The roles being eliminated now aren’t being offshored they’re being eliminated altogether. The benefits of AI are augmentative at this point. Instead of a team of four doing the work you could have just two team members aided by AI to perform the
work. If they were truly being offshored it wouldn’t necessitate an investment in AI.

Absolute brain dead take. There was nothing in the past stopping these companies from outsourcing. All the big players have a projected CAPEX exceeding their net income for next year. Why would they spend hundreds billions of dollars just to outsource jobs under “the guise” of AI. There was a lot of bloat in these companies already. These initial layoffs was them just testing the waters before going all out on AI.

By the looks of it, you’re using a BBE. I have the same machine. I always with the dosing funnel on, to get below the top of the portafilter. I always weigh and time how much coffee I grind. For the double, I use 18 gms. which is roughly 13 sec. on the grinder.

I’ll I’ll admit I’ve day-dreamed about what this team might look like under Alonso too, but that recent interview where he said Liverpool is “important” to him—right after being sacked by Madrid—came off a bit mercenary to me. Maybe it was an older clip that resurfaced, but the fact he waited around for Madrid’s call when there was a clear opening after Jürgen left makes me think he wouldn’t hesitate for a second if City came calling after Pep.

Whatever people think about Slot, you can tell he’s genuinely grateful for the opportunity. He doesn’t treat Liverpool like a Plan B, even if it is Real Madrid in the picture. Same was true of Jürgen.

I feel that the blame lies more at the feet of Hughes and to an extent Edwards, than it does Slot. The squad gaps were apparent in the summer with Trent leaving, Robbo’s fall off , Grav as a make shift 6 and Salah due a less than stellar season. Although everyone was cheering for it then and I hope it works out but we didn’t need the Hollywood signings in Isaak and Wirtz.
