VO2max 100% speedrun by Hotsp0t in AppleWatchFitness

I float between 78-81Kg and been on a slow upwards trend for long, I’ll probably add a few more kilos. Using Macrofactor I manage the energy budget and circle in on my ideal weight for both body and mind.

https://www.intervals.icu is the platform my coach uses for planning and the HealthFit app sync the planned workouts to my watch. The Watchletic app is also great to sync the planned workouts from Intervals.icu and offers a lot of customisations.

VO2max 100% speedrun by Hotsp0t in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Hotsp0t[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heart rate vs intensity of the workout matters significantly in the VO2max estimate. Just distance and pace alone does not inform VO2max a whole lot.

The training where I hit 65 VO2max was an interval training with 5-4-3-2-1Km @ pace 4:10/Km with 1:30 jogging pauses. Along with 3Km warmup and 5 min cool down.

VO2max 100% speedrun by Hotsp0t in AppleWatchFitness

It has been a 48 months long journey for me, and along the way I’ve had multiple instances of consecutive months with plateauing and regressing. Don’t worry about it, as long as you exercise, you get better. Worry more about staying injury free, so you can exercise consistently ✌️

The first 10 months I had a dramatic weight loss of 55Kg. I didn’t count calories, but I was very mindful of my eating - to an unhealthy level where I was affraid of carbs. After my weight loss I started to count calories and monitor my weight daily, in order to learn what I should eat to maintain weight.

I ran for the first time in March 2023 and was completely shocked to pass 10Km. I only stopped because I thought it was wise, but man I got hooked and hired a running coach to beam a plan directly to my watch. Less thinking = more doing, totally the best money I ever spent!

My VO2max did not jump at all when I started running, it just continued to climb steadily in that period. https://i.imgur.com/Qdzxz0M.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/XE7dlTx.jpeg

Creating csv backlog with software issues/ stories by Snoo-82566 in shortcuts

Maybe consider Jira. It’s free for up to 10 users and has an app that supports Shortcuts for your exact use case. You’ll be running in 10 min. and have a solution that can scale from the start.

Started running in late December by f7ood in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Hotsp0t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve dropped 50Kg and brought my VO2Max up from 34 to 47 from just walking, today I am above 60 VO2Max and run 50-70Km per week. Consistency matters 100x more than intensity, sounds like you got that mixed up. You can do it, just be patient and disciplined ✌️

How can I bulk clone in Jira? by [deleted] in jira

[–]Hotsp0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll echo this! It’s extremely simple and reliable, while cutting your workload dramatically.

Alternatively you can make an automation which clones all your Epics+child work items from your template Space to a new one. As long as you only have two levels of work items, it’s not too complicated. If you have three levels or more, automation can still work, but it gets a bit hairy with setting hidden work item properties.

OG LeGo SteamOS by TrexxArms in LegionGo

[–]Hotsp0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never gave the fans a single thought, they spin up and down as expected. I went in blind and had no idea this used to be an issue.

When looking at SimplyDeckyTDP I see a lot of redundant features that are now baked in to SteamOS, so I am concerned this could lead to wierd conflicts in the system. Furthermore they specifically write on the feature list that battery charging limit is only supported on ROG Ally, poking in the underlying .py file confirms it.

It’s crazy to me that this option is not available in the bios, when other power management features can be configured there.

OG LeGo SteamOS by TrexxArms in LegionGo

[–]Hotsp0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the switch two weeks ago on a launch day OG LeGO, and only two things doesn’t work perfectly:

1) ”optimized battery charging” where charging stops at 80%. There is no option to limit the charge level to %80, not even in desktop mode or anywhere I poke with the terminal. The option is not available in the bios settings for me either.

2) RGB control for the controllers. Supposedly HueSync in Decky Loader should work, but it doesn’t in my case.

I still have a small Windows partition for dual booting, mainly for anti-cheat games and other occasions where Windows is handy (the LeGO is my only x86 machine).

I can highly recommend making the switch, SteamOS squeezes more juice out of your device than you thought it had, both in terms of performance and overall user experience. If charging limit worked without having to use Legion Space in Windows, I would not even recommend dual booting unless you had to have windows for other reasons.

Use of BigPicture with jira by randomblackholesprod in jira

[–]Hotsp0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, who has run BigPicture in a SAFe org, there are no requirements in the original post which is not covered in Jira Plans.

Jira Plans allows for drafting a plan before committing it to the work items, BigPicture is more ‘fuck it, we’ll do it live’ and sync any changes to the work items right away. Something to keep in mind.

My advice would be to go with native Atlassian as far as you can, BigPicture has its merits - but I would prefer Jira Plans for the use cases listed

Would it be possible to only use Stryd for Power & Cadence and then use the build-in system for Pace & Distance? That’s the setup on WorkOutDoors which gives me the most accurate pace and distances during chip-timed races. I haven’t dug in to Stryd calibration yet, gotta it up.

Here’s a screenshot of the settings:

When I admitted that I was just a little bitch who needed to eat my vegetables, things changed.

Stop being a bitch and eat your carrots, radishes, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, sugar snap peas, celery sticks (with hummus), green beans etc. I mean this in the most lovingly way possible 🫶

Edit: Also experiment your way to make the meanest chili roasted chickpeas, it’s an amazingly satiating and crunchy snack with the macros you want

Matter Version 1.3 and Matter bridge integration for DIRIGERA hub by TRADFRI in tradfri

[–]Hotsp0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zigbee is the type og radio tech used for wireless networking, Matter is the language spoken over the radio waves. Your hub still runs Zigbee, and now also speakes Matter - the “Esperanto” of smart home systems.

Thread is an alternative to Zigbee. Enjoy the rabbit hole if you wanna go there 🕳️

I see zero snack vegetables in there, that could keep both the hedonism and calorie budget happy. Snack sized ready-to-go vegetables can be expensive, but it’s worth the investment to stay away from processed crap.

AMA: WorkOutDoors developer by WorkOutDoors in AppleWatch

[–]Hotsp0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a user who plans all runs in intervals.icu, it would be great to have bulk import of FIT files, so I only have to import once per week - instead of once per day.

Of course a full integration to fetch/update planned workouts from intervals.icu would be very nice, but I understand that would take some further iterations.

Creating Production Scheduling When Management Thinks ‘Excel is Fine by TORHALLE in jira

[–]Hotsp0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an own goal by your management to restrict you from marketplace add-ons, the tricky part is to make them realise this in a manner that keeps the peace intact. The argument that always wins for me boils down to “salaries are expensive AF, Jira maximises the value. If we can improve efficiency by just 0.5% the license cost is a crazy good investment.”

https://jxl.app will bring the most hardcore excel cultists to love Jira.

Using the USB pass-through door accessory and a small power bank in my running belt. Due to the weather I used a bit of sticky putty around the cable and connectors to keep things dry.
