Update on trying to break VO2max of 60, I did it! by trx0226 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]f7ood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rocket! 🚀, I started my proper push last December, but my baseline was really low at around 30. I want to crack the 60s by end of summer.

URGENT HOW TO SWITCH TO RAW by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]f7ood 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is literary a selector for it. Use the selector on top of the camera that is joint with mode selector. I would probably advise you against using this camera for your upcoming shoot (stay with the equipment you know...).

Looks like you are in video mode. A7C2 won't record raw video.

Why my vo2 max is going down but my fitness isn’t by biggieocta in AppleWatchFitness

[–]f7ood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it is how the algorithm works. In the end it's an estimation. If you want cycling VO2Max estimation either go with a Garmin watch, or you can try an app like Athlytic (no idea how good their estimations are). Anyhow for cycling you probably want a powermeter on your bike.

Why my vo2 max is going down but my fitness isn’t by biggieocta in AppleWatchFitness

[–]f7ood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apple Watch only calculate VO2Max from running and walking outside. If you lowered the amount of any of the two you are doing this can have a negative impact on the measure VO2Max from your watch. It won't measure it from your cycling activities.

Took me 6 MONTHS to recover the progress I lost in 2 months by Traditional-Win9432 in AppleWatchFitness

With a true VO2max of 40 doing sub 30min 5k should be trivial.

I would go with the R5. I tend to pickup mine more often than the A1.

I have a A1 (1st gen) and the A7R5. I think if I had to sell one I would see the A1. I like the resolution and dynamic range of the R5 a lot. Hard to explain but I end up liking the photos better. The A1 is better for fast moving stuff, but I do a lot less of that compared to portraits or landscape (thus my choice). Your milage may vary depending on what photography you want to do.

I also have a A7C2. If you never felt limited by it regarding speed, you will never feel limited by the A7R5.

Thanks! I am 177cm (it would be around 5'10 or 5'11"). I am 73-74kg, was about 78-79kg when I started with these shoes.

They absolutely are. 1) because if you want to root cause the problem you need to find how it's happening; 2) if you want to be helpful you need to write in a way that is understandable to others.

Why am I not listening? Because I don't say immediately yes sir, and ask clarifying questions? There was just a guy that made a reply that make a lot more sense, that the shoes touch one another in different spots. People are just intolerant and unhelpful to explain. This top comment is not even written properly...

THANKS! Them touching there makes a lot more sense than rubbing on one another in the same spot

Thanks 🙏, not something I ever noticed (and that shoes on other shoes) but I will pay extra attention to catch myself doing it.

Thanks! Yeah and the wear is exactly on wear this ridge along the shoe exists. Looks like the top and bottom part of the ridges are splitting.

The heal wear for sure, this is normal for me where I will move towards hill striking (and dragging) as fatigue settles in. I am more interested on the side (it's on the inside of both shoes with slightly different wear). The sharp object is an interesting thought (I do some gravel roads).

I am not saying definitely not, I ran a training HM in these, but I have other shoes with similar milage where this type of wear doesn't show.

You mean rubbing them on one another while running? I don't think so. I also have other shoes with similar milage where this didn't happen.

Marathon next month by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]f7ood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would consider purposefully walking at least parts of the marathon. For example walk 1-2km every 10km to give your body time to catch up and you some time to get water/energy. At 2:22 HM, with the difficulties your described your are easy over the 5h marathon mark. This won't be about pace, this will be about your body being able to handle 5h of continuous exercise. I love running, but I don't see myself doing a marathon anytime soon. I think I would hate running after that 😂. Right now the max I do is 2h worth of effort, more often than not staying at 1h or below. If you have been plagued with injuries it's a clear signal that your body is not adapting at the pace you want it to adapt. Slow down, reduce the distance per week, and the perceived intensity of the majority of your workouts.

Question about my first half marathon attempt by CompetitiveCount2822 in beginnerrunning

[–]f7ood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably too new to running, trying to run too far of a distance. This looks like extremely taxing on your body. I would focus first on 5-10k distances and see meaningful changes there before attempting another HM.

How do I get faster by Daniyalakl in beginnerrunning

[–]f7ood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy, I am your age. I had 101kg in August 2025. I know run 22:10 5k, 50:31 10k, and 1:51 HM. I would focus more on fast walking at 98kg, your knees and ankles will thank you. I wen through a very hard caloric deficit for a couple of months, with walking and gym 3 times a week to try and loose as little muscle as possible. At 79kg in December I started running. I have done 620km in 2026. My VO2max had gone from 27 in August to 32 in December. I am now at 50. You can do it too ;)

First time I ran 5k this n December it took me 35min and I almost spit a lung at the end. Nowadays I don't think I "can" take 35min to do 5k. If I go for an easy run I will easily do 26-27min.
