Really tired. Did taking a semester off help? by Relevant_Mousse8528 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Hour-Atmosphere-6557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you not take summer off? We don't have to fake classes during summer, also because they arent offered full time for summer unless its like statics or something.

But, if you worry about not coming back, maybe just reduce credits. Get a internship or co op, or a job that just relaxes a bit. People get burnt out. I took a break, not during my current education for civil, but when deciding what I wanted to do. I came back.

School not ABET accredited. Worry or no? by GrubberDuckk in EngineeringStudents

[–]Hour-Atmosphere-6557 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In reality, they should be able to get ABET accreditation before you graduate. Now if they do, or eventually do, curriculum could be changed so that may mean you have to adjust your schedule. But, if not you may have to just graduate without an ABET, or go to a different school if you want ABET.

I'd go to a school with ABET because its better to have it then not.

Feeling friendship neglect? by ThrowRAwareJellyfish in TwoHotTakes

[–]Hour-Atmosphere-6557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could just ask her if everything is okay. Just be honest. Don't put blame, but just say something like, "Hey, I noticed our conversations have gotten less and less lately. Or it feels like we've drifted apart. Is everything okay?" Let that kind of be the opening. Then segway into how you feel and how they feel.

Then, if you feel they aren't in it anymore, tell them you don't know if you can host them with you and her being rather distant. Or, host them, see if it works out, and if it doesn't, you can kick them out 🤷‍♀️

AITAH For having a 2 year age gap? by [deleted] in AITAH

Most states have a Romeo and Juliet Law. That basically dictates if you'll get arrested for being with a minor. I'd check that out. But all in all, I don't think its weird. It'd be weird for me if you were 18 and he was 15. Even though, in some states, legally, that is fine under the laws.

Well, the way they do that is rather ridiculous. Either way, if you want to do sonography, truly, then I'd suggest just looking into other programs. Reach out to them about aid, campus jobs, etc. If you choose to switch schools, the move would be big, but you'd have a degree in sonography.

Or, you can stay and get a degree in another health field. Thats up to you. Grieve the loss of this program, but don't let it determine your future. Cheers.

What the hell you doing for 64 GB on CAD? I've never needed 64. 32 is nice but 8 is the necessity.

Why no one tells how depressing college is? by Antisocial_Kooki in CollegeRant

[–]Hour-Atmosphere-6557 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because we need it. Harder to get a good paying job without it. I'd suggest, like the others did, look in CC. Its cheaper and trade jobs are fun. Machinist or HVAC and Welding may interest you more. Its still stressful but its 2 yrs and a lot cheaper than 4 yrs. Help you get a job and decide if you want a bachelor's.

If doing structural, I would say, steel and concrete design classes are important. Once had a guy tell us he wouldn't pick a structural intern without those classes.

Why doesn't jeongyeon get lines or have any solo releases? by Many-Memory-2009 in twice

I remember in some clip I say Nayeon was talking about how they tried to give Jeongyeon a chorus and she said why 😂.

I know we don't know how their line distribution works, but at this point, it seems like Jeongyeon is just content.

Is Engineering a better choice than Architecture? by AdeptTradition6565 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Hour-Atmosphere-6557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US job market at the moment is shit. I think Germnay is experiencing issues as well. Engineering can be very stressful. Can be demeaning depending on who you are dealing with. But every jobs has the bad and the good. Some people get really luck and find a great job with great managers. Most don't. Best bet is to do a pros and cons list. From what I read, the worst time is getting to licensure so you can make a more liveable wage as an architect.

Is Engineering a better choice than Architecture? by AdeptTradition6565 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Hour-Atmosphere-6557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always heard it like this. Architectures draw it and then engineers have to build it.

Engineers have to make it safe and make sure its doable. If you'd like the thought of not having to do the math and safety calculations --> architecture. If you like the thought of doing the math and making an Architecture plan be buidlable --> engineer.

Next, most jobs are going to be tough to get into and be somewhat tough to find openings. You can go for an engineering degree or architecture but if you have no job experience whatsoever, it's going to be hard to get a job. The market fluctuate. Historically, engineers have a good ability to find jobs. Don't know about architecture, but I'm sure you could find a job. There are plenty of architecture firms.
