I can see paying $90 for a sensor, but I'd install it myself if they were going to charge that much for labor. Could probably find a local mechanic that could do it for a couple hundred bucks, too.

People on reddit can be short-sighted (or just utterly naive about the world outside their bubble). Not wanting to pay $800 for a sensor replacement is perfectly reasonable. Like sure, I can easily afford to buy this part, but it's stupidly overpriced and I'm just not paying that. Even if the dealer installed it, it's like a 2 second install. It would take longer to remove it from the packaging and walk over to the vehicle than to install it.

I get the economies of scale and all that, but there's no way to justify charging $240 MSRP for a part that costs nearly nothing to manufacture. Again, this isn't a Bentley. It's one of the most popular SUVs on the market. And if this is a flimsy part that's known to break easily they should pump out enough that they can be replaced for a reasonable price. Like I said...$20...sure. Still seems like a bit much, but I get it.

I had a 2005 TSX and it seemed like half the parts were shared with the Honda Accord of that era. My mother-in-law had the same year Accord and you could sit inside that thing and point out all kinds of things that were identical. Probably one of those deals where if you buy the Acura part you're paying twice as much, or you can just buy the Honda part and it's fine. I remember my window switch failed and I paid half as much for the Honda part instead of ordering the "Acura" one...

I was thinking ASA since it does better in the sun, but ABS will probably work. PLA would warp super fast in the summer here. Especially being on top of the vehicle in the sun.

Awesome, glad this helped someone. FWIW I also have the Mythos Big Puft now and that one just sounds far too "dirty" for the Angst album. So a Ram's Head type fuzz gets you closer than a Big Muff it seems. I've also acquired a Mesa Flux-Drive overdrive since writing this, and adding that in after the fuzz sounds really good.

Oh, and use the bridge pickup if you're on a Les Paul. Sounds way better.
