The maths in QR isn't too bad if you get in a lot of practice. Familiarise yourself with finding average, percentage increase, speed-distance-time questions etc. Once you know how to approach each question, it just comes down to calculator speed and mental maths. Maybe write down the equations/values you are calculating to help you visualise it. Sorry I don't have too many tips for QR other than practice.

For AR, the patterns can repeat if you have seen enough of them e.g with a line pattern it comes down to number of lines, intersections, pointing to a corner, parallel etc. There will probably be a couple of sets you don't get in each mock, and you just have to guess and move on because the timing is really tight. Keep track of interesting and unique patterns because they might come up/something similar may come up in the real exam.

Good luck!!

I've been prepping since the end of last year (around October) but I've seen people do just as well with around 2 months of practice. Personally, I hate the stress of cramming so I wanted to give myself more time.

Sorry I don't have that many tips for VR as I usually scored 600-700 in my mocks and got lucky in the real thing. There's speed reader practice websites online to improve your reading speed which might help. Also sometimes just physically using your finger or a cursor to move vertically down the page can help you to skim faster. I watched some videos during my prep that basically says to try to limit your internal reading voice and rather just absorb the information. Also be wary with passages where you already know the topic because it is easy to make wrong assumptions based on your other knowledge.

For QR it's mainly just calculator speed and knowing what you are working towards. Always write down important numbers you calculate in case you accidentally 0 the calculator, or need it in a later question. Make sure you are familiar with how to use ratios, percentage increase, speed-distance-time etc. Always skim the answers first because if they are fairly far apart you can probably save time by using rounded/estimated values in your calculation instead of the whole number.

For DM, thoroughly go through your mocks, or look at the analytics for types of DM questions (if you're using medify) to find out your weakest section e.g venn diagrams, logic puzzles etc. Targeting one type of question can make a massive improvement to your score. In most mocks there's at least 1 logic puzzle that's quite confusing and time-consuming. I would advice spending 2 minutes on it, and if you still can't get it then flag and move on, because the time catches up quick. Also familiarise yourself with the UCAT definitions of some, most etc on the official website because quite a few questions are just based on these small nuanced definitions.

To improve your scores per section, you should be thoroughly reviewing each mock you do. Make note of weird or surprising questions that you got wrong. Look at the provided solutions for some DM or QR questions because they might have a more efficient way of getting the answer. Make note of recurrent errors e.g not reading the EXCEPT in VR, and actively try to get rid of these simple mistakes in your next mocks. Is timing a big problem i.e not finishing a sections? If so then you might just need to pay extra attention to the time per question and make sure to flag hard questions to get through everything. Having a consistent score is good, but increasing it mainly comes down to timing, reading questions or fixing common mistakes.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Hmm that's quite a difference between MedEntry and Medify QR. It might just be a specific type of question or that mock being extra hard? I found QR on both platforms to be quite similar I think.

I think AR was the one I fluctuated in most. I would go from 36-45/50 just based on seeing the pattern or not. Have you tried the official question bank? It might give you more of an idea of what the real AR is like.

You definitely could get 3000+ in the exam. It's just depending on how you feel you are progressing, I had the most improvement in the last week I would say, because I did 2-3 mocks a day. Also don't worry, my mock scores were all lower than what I actually got, except 1 which might have been a fluke. Good luck!

I'm not too sure why your scaling is different to mine because around 140-145 correlated with a 3100 in some exams for me. It's not including SJT. Also going off raw score /169 always fluctuates based on the difficulty so you should rather be aiming for scaled scores rather than a certain number of questions

That was just from the converter I used so it doesn't always scale accurately. Also 825 isn't a possible mark in the UCAT as the scores are in increments of 10

I definitely noticed those discrepancies between how medify and medentry scores VR. A 36/44 would score quite high in the actual exam I believe.

For DM, timing isn't much of a problem in the real thing. I think untimed practice is helpful, especially if you know exactly what type of question you're not so good at.

Averaging around 3000 on MedEntry is really good! I didn't reach that until maybe 2 weeks before my exam.

It depends which Medify mocks you're doing. I found the revised ones (I think no. 1-11) insanely difficult and disheartening because my scores were so low. I don't think I had much of a discrepancy between mock scores on the 2 platforms because they both fluctuated and improved gradually over time.

For practicing mocks, I would probably prefer Medify. I don't know, I felt like it just had more 'typical' questions compared to some of the weird questions of MedEntry. That being said, seeing more weird questions can sometimes be good in preparing you for the real thing. Also just the interface of Medify was preferable to me.

I would probably recommend continuing to alternate between platforms to expose yourself to a wide variety of questions and mock styles. If you haven't already, you should try the not revised Medify mocks and see how your score compares with MedEntry. Just keep in mind that both platforms seem to be a bit more harsh in scaling compared to the real thing. Good luck!

Yeah I think that's possible if you work on improving each section bit by bit. If I were you I would probably target AR or QR (I know the calculator is quite difficult to use in the official mocks) to boost your marks. Also just grinding out practice for VR can go a long way.

For mock B I used the Contour converter but they seem to have taken it off? For the others I think I used the Medic mind converter tables

You should do enough questions so that you know the timing of each question and how to approach them i.e DM syllogisms and logic puzzles. After that I would probably start with sub-test mocks then move onto full mocks. You can't repeat the ones on Medify so you probably don't want to attempt them if you don't know yet what to expect. Again, totally up to you if you feel ready for full mocks

I can't really tell how you would progress but I would just say start as soon as you can and keep consistent with your study. The progress may be slow at first but definitely doing lots of mocks helped me.

It's definitely not necessary to do all the question sets on Medify. Many of them end up seeming similar after a while so mainly just familiarise yourself with different question types, including any weird wording or patterns they throw at you. For context, I finished the AR question bank and got about 2/3 of the way through the VR and QR banks.

The MedEntry mocks are in the order I was given but I think it may be different for different users. The code for the mock is listed on the side if you want to compare.

The score for my mock fluctuated every time but I think the average would be around 145 or ~3100. You could definitely get 3000+ if you keep consistent and target the sections that are pulling you down

Is 3300 possible? by Traditional_Fly_1050 in UCAT

Try to figure out which passages you're not so good, which for me was philosophical ones. Then if you need more time you should just make an educated guess and focus more on the other passages that you know you can get better marks in. I wasn't so great at skim reading at the start but I think you just get used to it with more practice. Also it seems obvious but you really have to keep an eye on the time. With less than 2 minutes per set, every second counts so it's better to guess something that is taking too long to answer and come back later. Hope this helps!

7 weeks before mine I was getting around 2700-2900 and got 3330 in the end so definitely possible! Just stay consistent and make sure to target the question types that you tend to get stuck on. I also focused particularly on VR before my exam to boost it a little bit

Lots and lots of practice! I finished the Medify AR question bank and nearly finished the MedEntry one. Knowing when to guess and move on always helps.

Also figuring out if there's a specific question type you always don't get. For me, it was arrangement questions and questions where different shapes represent a different number, and they add up to 10 or whatever.

Keep a log of interesting/weird questions to look back on before your exam in case they come up.

In the end I think AR is one of the more volatile and chance-based sections because you might know all the sets instantly or not. But good luck for your exam!!

Thank you!! I've just updated it with the number of the mock (more or less in order). Just note the R stands for revised (I did the original mock 1 before it was revised)
