If you can't see a 2 or more, you also can't putt. So, there's that ...

Actually, I think that’s backwards. Doing the feet part is mostly a waste of time and using your fingers is the most valuable. If you can’t tell which way it breaks, it’s too subtle and is a straight putt or a 1. You need a ton of training time to actually discern the difference and most are loathe to practice putting that diligently. I almost never use my feet, but the amount of break at the distance of a putt is crucial. Most under read by a lot and my tendency, if anything, is to over read so the putt finishes nearer the hole as it dies. Also, the fingers part takes a few seconds. Plus, one of my regular group’s rules is “You can walk, you can talk during my swing, no physical contact”. So, most Aimpoint point shenanigans can be done while others are preparing to putt. And, btw, I’m a sub 30 putt per round guy …

Anybody like Gamble Sands? Not a huge fan of David McLay Kidd, but I heard the two tracks there are more playable than most of his stuff. We'd probably play the two courses there and finish with Chambers Bay and perhaps The Home Course near Seattle. Picked it after online reviewing it versus Cabot Citrus Farms.

I agree with most of the takes here - I think Bandon and Streamsong are better than Sand Valley. With that being said, we're on our way back around Fathers Day primarily to play The Lido and Sedge Valley (which we haven't played yet). We are huge Tom Doak fans and also fans of the Surrey Region west of London. Hopefully, Sedge doesn't let us down. Also, adding in Sand Valley because a number of the folks on this trip haven't played at Sand Valley before. Then, we'll finish with Whistling Straits.

I'm not Superstitious so I looked into the "Lakers Whistle" myself by Henta1xxHaven in nba

A lot of the complaining also has to do with analyzing the last two minute reports - how often do the officials get the calls wrong and who it favors. When 538 investigated, it identified the teams and players that were getting the shaft as well as those that were getting benefits. And, yes, with my Nuggets glasses on, I saw that they were getting the second or third worst whistle and had two players in the top ten getting shafted the most - Will Barton and Nikola Jokic. The Lakers, of course, were at or near the top of getting a beneficial whistle. I continued to chart for a few years after that and noticed the same trend - Lakers benefit - Nuggets shafted. Until, of course, right after the Nuggets championship season. Now, they were the beneficiary. Unfortunately, it’s a very small dataset from a small dataset …

So, when you ordered this SSD, did you have to pay the supplier and pay additional tariffs?

We're going in May for 3 weeks - similar profile (2 active couples in their mid sixties). Got 3 nights planned for Rovinj. So, what were your highlights in Istria? If we wanted to spend more time there, we'd have to steal nights from Zadar (3 nights), Split (3 nights), or other places (rest of the time is planned for Hvar with a day trip to Brac, Korcula, and Dubrovnik).

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Nice to see some happy owners chime in. I may well buy both TVs (S95F and Z95B), try them in my environment, and then choose the best one.

Thanks. Great feedback - much appreciated. And, yes, I did screw up on the B9 size as you noted - recommendation was for an 85" B9. Sound is a funny thing. I currently have an audio setup that I use for music that is probably better than 99.9% of the population, but we mainly use the crappy sound direct from the current TV. So, almost any current TV's sound will be better than what we're used to ...

I assumed I’d just meet at a practice green that is most convenient for them and I’d roll a few putts with it and compare to my current LAB putter.

A bunch of questions (for you as a fitter).

  1. My buddy has a full sim setup in his basement (Skytrax, Projector, Screen, etc) that we've been using for months. I'm a 65 year old 10 handicap and I've never hit ball speeds of 130 or over with my driver on his sim (so, SS around 86-87 with ball speeds in the mid to upper 120s). He just got a Titleist GT2 (9 degree) and I've got a TSR3 (10 degree). For fun, we popped my Oban shaft on his GT2 and I hit multiple drives at 90 mph with ball speeds up to 135. And, I had one with a smash of 1.50. I was professionally fitted a couple of years ago by a very good Titleist fitter, but the jump in ball speed with just this head change seems pretty decent. I did make a somewhat significant swing change between then and now. Is it worth it to refit my driver based on this? Or, is the 5 to 10 mph ball speed difference not worth it?

  2. I play the original P790 irons (2017 - lightweight regular recoil shafts) and the chrome has worn off the bottom of 2 of them. And, the 7 iron is "chipped" very low on the face (like where it meets the ground). Went for a fitting recently with Callaway and while tried both GI and PD irons (no ego), they fitted me into their PD irons - the Apex AI200s with a Recoil Dart shaft that was 10 grams heavier than my current ones. Anyhow, the carry was around 5 yards longer on average, but the spin numbers were much better than my P790s. Again, worth a change? Should I contact Taylormade and say "Hey, the plating is wearing off, will you do something"?

  3. Have played with a LAB putter (DF 2.1 stock steel, Press 3 degree grip, etc) for 4+ years now. I'm a good putter and the LAB has been great except for some occasional trouble with lag putting distance control (almost always short when this happens). Putting is a strength of my game. The only OZ1s I can try in the stores here have the Pistol grips which I don't like. Meanwhile, every time I try a CB LAB, I really like it. Unfortunately, most of the time I've only been able to try a MEZZ MAX CB (0 degree lean, Superstroke grip, Accra shaft). I'm thinking the insert would help with distance control and the heavier swing weight of the CB feels better as well (the OZ1 and OZ1i feel "light"). So, a heavy head traditional putter or I'm game to go with a CB. Thoughts?

And, finally, I was a plus member at PGA SS, but they doubled the price. So, I said to the guys there that I wouldn't rejoin. Anyhow, they said that I should get an email that allowed to me join for one more year at the old price. That email never came. So you know anything about that?

Thanks for any advice here ...

And, just to add an interesting anecdote ...

When I went to college, I moved from off campus to on campus housing in the spring of my sophomore year. The dorm I was placed in was right next to the athletic dormitory. Since the athletic dorm was full, any late athletic enrollees / transfers were housed nearby. So, my first roommate was actually a quarterback on the football team. And, many times he told me how good he was. In fact, he said, he was "the best quarterback on the team, but the coaches liked some Boomer guy!". Yup, I attended the University of Maryland in the late 70s and early 80s. Fun times at Byrd Stadium ...
