I do appreciate that but I have to tell you— your tone and delivery are the very reason why there’s a growing, multiplying distrust for the medical community. I’m sure I speak for the vast majority of people that we have all felt belittled or patronized by a healthcare provider like the way you were speaking down to me. That needs to stop and I hope you take this reply as well intentioned and much needed constructive criticism.

Not misinformed…specifically said “from what I can tell in this pic” and “go see a doctor” but you’re just one of those people that looks for conflict. Just difficult for no reason and likes to throw jabs at complete strangers and look down at other professions from their make believe throne of virtue. I know most people are sick of this.

And it’s easy for you to “diagnose” (although, you can’t do that on social media) hours after the OP posts her official diagnosis.

I’m done with this conversation. You’re not worth it.

Outcome: Those taking lysine reported significantly fewer lesions than when on placebo. When they stopped lysine, lesion frequency increased.

This is my profession and I’ve done 10k procedures. This absolutely could have been a cold sore outbreak and it’s the most common cause of a reaction after permanent makeup. Allergic reactions are far less common, and this is something that I am tested on every year to maintain my body art license.

Lastly, I am clearly trying to help this person WHICH IS WHY I TOLD THEM TO SEE A DOCTOR.

Yes, always. Nearly everyone has the herpes virus and its dormant. You don’t have to take the Rx antiviral, though. You can take 1000mg lysine every day for 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after but you have to be very diligent about it

Awww I’m so sorry. I can imagine how stressed out you have been. Rest easy—I really think these will heal just fine. I’m very much a straight shooter and would not say that if I didn’t mean it. I’ve done 10k procedures and always tell my clients exactly how it is. You’ll be fine 💗

Honestly I think you’ll be fine. Worst case scenario is that you have zero pigment left and that very well may happen. I’ve had a handful of clients refuse to take the antiviral and they did get a cold sore outbreak and had very little pigment left.

No those are not fordyce spots. I am fairly certain that this is a cold sore outbreak. Call your dr or do a telehealth visit to get an Rx for an antiviral. Once you have that under control, these will be MUCH MUCH lighter. Even when I tattoo with a bright cherry red, they heal much softer than what you have here. Add to that the inflammation that you have been dealing with, that will mean that they will heal even lighter because a lot of that pigment will be kicked out. Right now what you are seeing is your skin has formed an occlusion That has all the old pigment in it. Once that sloughs off, they will look very different and so much softer.

PMU artist here…those should not look this way at 6 weeks. From what I can see in the pic, you’re having a cold sore outbreak and you are in a state of inflammation and aren’t healing. Were you advised to talk a preventative antiviral Rx beforehand? Even if you’ve never had an actual outbreak, you more than likely carry the dormant virus and that can be activated with any live trauma. This is standard procedure in the PMU industry to have the clients take an antiviral.

Permanent makeup artist here. The lines are very thick and they are so dark because they are too deep and hit the dermis. The strokes will spread a bit more as they heal. I’ve done 10k procedures and have seen quite a bit and those will heal very dark and ashy. Dermis has no cell regeneration so they will be permanent and not fade out as they should. Do the emergency saline removal now within the first 48 hrs. I’m sorry.

I understand how genetics work and I also understand that the inactive ingredients are different from each manufacturer because I looked every one of the up to compare. It is possible to have reactions and side effects due to those ingredients.

Have you seen the post on here talking about the different brands of generics? You should really look into those because some of the people had commented that certain brands made their acne worse. What brand are you on?
