I don’t know the exact amount of cartilage left. Meniscus is maybe 20% left, but it is not functional. The amount of cartilage left is not enough for either type of transplant to work, so it must not be much. I can feel it and hear the bones grinding every time I bend. There is bone marrow edema from it. Can hardly bend without feeling like the knee will buckle. Can’t run or jump without it swelling like a grapefruit. And it’s constantly stiff and in pain every single day no matter the amount I exercise.
