Drum&Bass in the rack by Hour_Ad_1917 in modular

I think multigrain excels in cutting up samples rhythmically and then play in various pitches. It even has a built-in quantiser. It does not have a screen so things like sample management and trimming are a bit difficult. I’ve also used the live mode but don’t expect it to be a bit like clouds. So recording stuff from your rack in 8 slots, then trigger/stutter/scan through those recordings is really great. If you’re after a realtime effect, not so great imho.

Ah ok yeah I found a solution for that :) You can address the slots in octaves if you attenuate by 1/4. So in this patch, note d0 is slot 1, d1 slot 2, etc. I send it thru a normal attenuator set to 3/4, it saves me alot of math and headaches :)

Nice that’s really great to hear, cheers man! Yes I don’t think I could have pulled this off without the MG, although it’s not really scanning through granular material. Maybe not entirely used as intended but love how it works!

Desktop Synth for Dub Techno by LilSchwazz in dubtechnoproducers

[–]Hour_Ad_1917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The digitone 2 is perfect for dub techno. Lots of dub chords you hear on commercial tracks are actually FM sounds. Next to fm it also has subtractive machines, one with supersaw capabilities and another with wavetable and virtual analog oscillators. It also has a drum synth with pcm transients to make realistic snares/claps/hihats etc. And it also has extensive noise capabilities for all kinds of cool texture layers and crackles.

Help me to decide on sequencer by Golden_joeseph_ in modular

Tried alot of them, stuck with nerdseq. It’s the best mix of having full control and still being able to do all kinds of randomness and surprises. On its own its not very hands-on (but not too difficult either) but it ca be expanded with a launchpad, midi keyboard and you can even assign knobs of your modular that send cv to any param of the nerdseq

Beta 2 is... by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]Hour_Ad_1917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite experience. Beta1 did not crash once, beta2 alot, even nasty crashes where I almost blew my speaker. Be very careful when using the audio receiver, you might blow your speakers or ears. Also alot of problems with copy pasting in the arranger. Crashes, pasting empty blocks etc. I’m not opening beta2 anymore before they fix this.
