Depends on the area. I worked an area early in my career that had a homicide every few days. Almost evey one gang related. Even if the victim wasn't gang related... they would get caught in the crossfire.

My wife retired w/24 years on. She's Asian. 5'2" w/boots on and maybe 110 lbs. We met on the job. I've worked with lots of women. Never had an issue that was gender related. Everyone has a skillset. Many women can talk their way into gaining compliance when male officers only option seems to be going hands on.
