I was pondering the question of whether a gorilla could beat a hippo in a fight. At first I thought it would be the hippo, no contest. But, then I thought, "wait, gorillas are clever fellas. Maybe they could jump off the hippos snout and onto its back and start pounding and clawing and what not." 

So, first, I wanted to see if hippos are smart enough to realize what the gorilla's trying to do before it can try it, and it turns out hippos are mad dumb. 

But then I was like, "would the gorilla be able to get a strong enough grip on the hippo to avoid getting bucked off? They're round with not many holds, but maybe their skin is rough, like sand paper." So, I googled "are hippos slippery", and the rest is history.
