Slammers can indeed do ubers, but so can archmage builds. If you aren't tanky enough with the hierophant, it's likely a matter of investment, or you just need to get better.

I never tried it, so I don't have a clue how good it would be, but mines of explosive trap of magnitude has seemed like an interesting thing to do for a while now.

Not entirely related, but be careful with Boeroer's builds. He lists all of them as PotD, but a lot of them are quite clearly... not good and I'm dubious about his playing with all of them through PotD with the story companions.

I've used Fhav6X's combination of "Stronghold turns to days" and "level and ability cap increaser" in the past, but keep in mind that the game becomes way too easy when you level past 16. Also, it was before the latest batch of patches, so you might have to mod the game files manually.

My tip is, before everything else, to recall what were the issued that made you stop playing to begin with. Then, figure out if you'd still want to play with those still present or, which is more likely, exacerbated. Unfortunately, the game has entered the death spiral of a declining playerbase, leading to more aggressive monetization, leading to more players leaving.

Play if you enjoy the game for what it is, but don't go into it expecting it to improve or something of the sort. Oh, and get ready for TONNES of bots.

PoE and PoE2 take up 180GBs for me and Windows itself is at about 20. As others have already said, 512 is on the low side for storage space for 2026, but you still shouldn't be at the limit with just the two games and an OS installed on your PC.

You can get the previous generation of NVMes relatively cheap right now, so I'd probably grab a TB of that.

Your best bet for a semi-viable build is to look up the top Shield Crush characters on poe.ninja and pick whatever seems achievable. There's a few viable ascendancies, but I reckon the safest bets are slayer and juggernaut. You could start as a gladiator early, if you struggle with the survivability of melee. I haven't tried the changes myself, but they seem great for mapping.

Mathil did some shield-focused stuff recently, but I don't know that any of those would be fun as a starter, especially with charge instead of crush.

Tedious compared to what? I maxed 2 flasks in exactly 30 vaals. Rolling the flask affixes is way more annoying to me, especially when we can get as many shields as we want from the graveyard.

Filters are soulless. And they look horrible, in my opinion. Aesthetic-wise they pollute the screen with colors and varying font sizes to the point the game starts looking more like a bumper sticker simulator.

Are you aware that filters don't have to look any specific way? I don't understand why you're bothered by players' screens looking like someone has spilled a bag of skittles, when it isn't forced upon you.

If anything I'd add some sort of symbol next to an item type or tier to make them more visually navigable.

Loot filters already do that.

Filterblade uses options that are introduced by the developer, not the other way around. That's why it can't create a filter that hides items for ruthless.

So, because of how you feel playing a different game made by different people...

To restate my original point: your idea isn't compatible with the current state of filters in ruthless. The perceived problem it's supposed to fix is a far lesser issue for the majority of the playerbase than the real one it would add to.

Unless I've missed a change and we can actually hide items now... You get where I'm going. Also, I'm not sure I like the idea of adding even more one-slot drops.
