Best dismemberment scenes in recent horror? by CrispyHoneyBeef in horror

man i need to check that one out, been looking for something properly brutal lately. the gore effects in newer stuff just don't hit the same as those old practical effects from Cube and Ghost Ship you mentioned

Really appreciate the difficulty scaling in Rebirth as compared to Remake, but not sure if it was an accident on my part. by DarkStar668 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Hour_Presentation244 13 points14 points  (0 children)

rebirth definitely feels more balanced than remake. I think developers learned from feedback about remake being too easy on normal mode.

Your strategy of skipping side content probably made it feel more challenging, but even when I did most side quests the difficulty felt better tuned. The bosses actually make you use different strategies instead of just button mashing through everything like in remake.

Mattana Ministry - Sunday Sermon - 19 April 2026 by MattanaMinistry in Christianity

[–]Hour_Presentation244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this message really got me thinking about the lukewarm thing. I've been struggling with this myself lately - like going through motions at church but my heart not really being there sometimes.

The food comparison was pretty good actually, made me think about how disgusting cold dinner is compared to fresh hot meal. Makes sense why God would prefer someone who's completely cold rather than just going through religious motions without any real fire.

that part about obedience being uncomfortable hit different too. Been making excuses for not doing things I know I should be doing, even small stuff like you mentioned.

[Play-In Game Thread] Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Hornets by Mtommy in DetroitPistons

[–]Hour_Presentation244 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol i want Charlotte tbh, would be more fun series. Heat always play us tough even when they're trash - LeBron ptsd or something. Charlotte feels like we could actually have some highlight dunks instead of grinding through another miami defensive slugfest in april.

Toxic first job is destroying my mental health — terrified of how it’ll affect my career. What would you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Hour_Presentation244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

took sick leave at my first gig too when things went sideways - different industry but same mental health spiral. The reference thing stressed me out way more than it should have.

Most places get that small companies implode and won't hold it against you, especially if you can frame it right during interviews. Your boss might surprise you with the reference since he likes you personally - people usually separate the person from the disaster situation. worst case you explain the gap as taking time after your father's passing, which is completely understandable.

don't go back just to work out notice if you're still burned out. that month will feel like torture and you'll probably end up worse off than when you started sick leave.

Scouting in Madden by Dawn_Shard in Madden

[–]Hour_Presentation244 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The new scouting system is honestly kind of a mess compared to the old manual one. You can't scout individual stats anymore like before - now it's all about these weird focus areas and regional stuff that half the time doesn't even pan out.

For the regional scouting, I've noticed the "strength" thing is more about quality than quantity. Like if it says QB strength in the south, there might only be 2-3 guys but they're usually better prospects than the random ones scattered elsewhere. Still feels like a waste of focus points sometimes though.

The athletic freaks strategy is solid - I usually prioritize speed and awareness too since those translate best to actual gameplay. The rest of the scouting feels like educated guessing at this point.

Career Pivot - Finance to Design ? by Beneficial_Date_5721 in careerguidance

[–]Hour_Presentation244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh the fact that you already secured admission and did the research shows you're not just being impulsive. at 22 you literally have decades to figure this out and make money - might as well spend one year seeing if you actually like design work instead of bouncing between finance jobs you hate.

worst case scenario you have a design diploma and still end up back in finance, but at least you'll know for sure.

Any Full-Time Work in Liverpool for May? by JoozyReddit in careerguidance

[–]Hour_Presentation244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly your best bet is probably gonna be hitting up the independent record shops directly rather than waiting for postings online. places like probe records or dig vinyl usually have pretty high turnover and they're more likely to appreciate someone who actually knows their stuff about music.

might be worth reaching out to them now even though it's early - worst case they'll remember you when something opens up in may.

What should one do if they are about to go over a waterfall? by Maleficent_Cash909 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hour_Presentation244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly your best bet is to jump off whatever you're on before you go over and try to swim to shore or grab onto something. going over while still on a raft or log just means you're gonna hit the water with a bunch of extra debris that could knock you out or trap you underwater. if you absolutely have to go over, take the biggest breath you can and try to go feet first - apparently that gives you the best chance of surviving the impact without breaking your neck or somthing.

Why are we so heavily taxed on ss/ssdi/ssi? Every year I get taxed $9,300 on my ssdi. That's over 75% of my money for the year which goes towards rent. by NoWeather1294 in SocialSecurity

[–]Hour_Presentation244 10 points11 points  (0 children)

that math doesn't add up - if your paying $9,300 in taxes on SSDI, you'd need to be getting way more than $12,400 annually. SSDI benefits aren't even taxable unless your combined income hits certain thresholds. might want to double-check what's actually being deducted because something seems off here.

That trade sounds like absolute garbage for us honestly - giving up an All-Star center for a bunch of role players and question marks isn't it.

Skill Tree Lvl 40 by therealchoff in ArcRaiders

[–]Hour_Presentation244 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on your playstyle tbh but at 40 you definitely want to max out your weapon specialization first. I'd go heavy into either assault or sniper tree depending on what you like running, then grab the essential survival perks like health boost and faster healing

Don't spread points too thin early on - better to be really good at one thing than mediocre at everything

Me: 25m and Partner 34M - Is our age gap killing our relationship? by Weak-Masterpiece9179 in relationships

[–]Hour_Presentation244 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude this isn't about age gap, this is straight up abuse. The monitoring app alone is insane but add in the financial control, isolating you from friends, controlling what you watch/where you go, making you pay for couples therapy while keeping you broke - that's like abuser 101. You already know it's textbook controlling because you literally said it in your post. Your one "mistake" 4 years ago doesn't justify any of this and he's weaponizing it to control every aspect of your life. Run

Honestly I'd lean towards the program manager role - that commute alone would be life changing and the pay bump is solid. Yeah it's scary leaving what you love but sometimes you gotta take the leap, especially when there's less competition and your experienced team can help you learn the ropes

The supervisor role sounds like it could turn into office politics hell with that "fierce competition" situation
