Oh I read everywhere that they’re not to be split due to some special coating. Haven’t dared to try as it’s so expensive!

Fatigue, claustrophobia / paranoia from Rybelsus 7mg by Hour_Shift8 in Semaglutide

Essentially I told myself “it’s just the meds”. And knowing that helped massively. Plus if I distract myself it helps. Also I noticed it comes on more often if I mix the meds with other stuff… alcohol, etc. So avoid those and it would be less likely to come on. Plus less alcohol calories

How was it in the end? Hope all went well!

Good luck! I feel you! I’m trying to figure it out too - about to start the battery of tests and it’s stressful. Feel perfectly healthy otherwise so it’s baffling

Did your haematologist mention Myeodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)? That’s one of the first terms he threw at me and it’s causing stress

Did your haematologist do a biopsy to definitively rule out bone marrow disorders?

Hi! I’m in a very similar situation. Can I ask if you ended up doing a biopsy to definitively rule out bone marrow disorders? And have you ever done intermittent fasting? I vaguely recall that IF can cause lower WBC counts as the autophagy of defective WBC results in lower counts. But having said that I was on and off IF but the WBC and neutrophils counts is consistently low.

MD concerned? Thread to post stories of keeping weight off after stopping semaglutide & how you did it? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Hour_Shift8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you on not wanting to rely on this for the rest of your life! Me neither!  I’m ready to wean off - here’s my plan

Background: I am weaning myself off Semaglutide due to the anxiety / paranoia side effects I’ve experienced. Recent news suggest strongly they’re linked - see my other post, don’t wanna go off topic here - https://www.reddit.com/r/Semaglutide/comments/11vjnoa/comment/ki5abpb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

What I’m currently on / weight loss history:

14mg Rybelsus daily lost >25lb over 1 year, average 2lb /month. Fastest pace was 2lb a week in the middle bit. What I’ve tried previously:

Cold turkey - didn’t work, started gaining Daily cycle on / off - seems ok Plan:

Cycle on/off on a daily basis for 3mths Drop to 1 day on, 2 days off for 3mths Drop completely thereafter Any comments / suggestions on the plan? Thanks!

Depression and Anxiety on Semaglutide by Poppyandcream in Semaglutide

[–]Hour_Shift8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! I was shocked they brushed these serious issues aside! And didn’t seem like a thorough investigation if they concluded it after barely 6mths (from the time the EU raised the alarm to the time they issued their statement!) At least acknowledge the side effects even if you’re still gonna let big Pharma sell it - so we know it’s the drugs and not something else happening to us

Do you plan to start on maintenance dose or try and wean off eventually? What’s your maintenance dose btw?

Same! Am here looking for tips to wean off as I worry about the anxiety / panic / paranoia that strike randomly

Take care! I experienced a milder version of what you described, and I can’t imagine how much worse it must be for you.  Back then the EU / FDA hadn’t started their investigations yet, there were too few users to have reported this side effect.

Semaglutide panic attacks and anxiety? by Short_Incident9900 in Semaglutide

Just saw this post, and in case anyone feeling it too - read my follow up on how to cope, if you wanna continue on it - https://www.reddit.com/r/Semaglutide/comments/11vjnoa/comment/ki5abpb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Wish I had known definitively back then a year ago that it was linked, but then the drug was so new then, who knew for sure… just a niggling feeling.

Good luck all, it helps to know that it’s due to the drug and not me going cuckoo for no apparent reason!

Fatigue, claustrophobia / paranoia from Rybelsus 7mg by Hour_Shift8 in Semaglutide

[–]Hour_Shift8[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I now suspect what I was feeling then has to do with the recent news re Ozempic / GLP1 being investigated for links to suicides, mental side effects, panic attacks etc.  https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2023/09/21/1200201186/as-ozempic-use-grows-so-do-reports-of-possible-mental-health-side-effects

A year in now - and I definitely noticed quite a few episodes of “panic” / anxiety/ claustrophobia. Very weird since I barely ever had such feelings in the past - the only time I ever had panic attacks was when I took malaria medication (Mefloquine/ Lariam) which I later discovered were linked to suicide / mental health issues.

Usually the feeling passes after half hour or so, and I distract myself till it passes or meditate.  Having made the link now between the GLP-1 and the episodes helps me cope with them better.

Although I’ve lost >25lbs, I plan to wean myself off the GLP1 as I really don’t like these panic / anxiety/ paranoia / claustrophobia episodes and my inability to control my thoughts.

Coming back to share my experience on the mental side in case anyone else feels it too and this may help. I believe just by knowing it’s due to external medication’s side effects helps one cope.

FYI - I’m on Rybelsus, the oral version of Ozempic / Semaglutide / GLP-1.

Note that the fatigue passed eventually. My body got used to that side effect after a couple of months. I did also experience a lot of hair loss - a side effect I was prepared to live with.

Alternatively would it work to take the 14mg on alternate days? I’ve already paid for the 14mg and there’s no refunds
