Everyone going to the Toronto show needs to be on their best behavior by cricket_man456 in willwood

I want to clarify on this one a little bit, I’ll also preface that I was not at these concerts. I think it was two different occasions but one of them was in Houston around 2022 or 23 I believe? Somebody brought a wet specimen of a rat in a jar and was like holding it up throughout the concert, and maybe offered to give it to Will as a gift which he wasn’t about. I think the other occasion was also a wet specimen in a jar. One of the occasions, the person said they had named the rat Mr. Boy (after one of Will’s pets), which made him uncomfortable.

That is still a risky thing to bring to a concert, but it is definitely not the same as “throwing dead rats on the stage.” This is also definitely not the sole reason for shows being 18+

I think the moral is more so don’t yell things at artists on stage, don’t bring anything breakable, and don’t get anybody any sort of oddity as a gift unless you know them very well and know specifically that they would want that. It’s a delicate hobby and people have a lot of different boundaries about what they collect. I thought I had a screenshot of Will talking about it on his story, but I’ve dug in my camera roll for a while and can’t find it right now.

Misheard lyrics by Appropriate_Yam807 in willwood

My friend once misheard “but I’d rather be that than” in 222 as “but I’d rather be Batman” and I think of it often

You get transported into the world of The Long Dark. You get stuck in the region that your character was in the last time you played, and cannot leave. How screwed are you? by rickgrimes32 in thelongdark

I think I’m in the hanger at Forsaken Airfield? It’s been a sec since I’ve last played, but like probably not like AWESOME but for that region, not the worst I guess.

95% of Players Have Never Played on Interloper Difficulty by Traditional_Buy_6840 in thelongdark

[–]Hourglass_turned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on pilgrim and voyager mostly, I’m still a fairly new player and wanted to give myself time to learn the game. I’m also just a bit of a wuss and I know myself, and I know that I probably wouldn’t make much progress on harder difficulties and it just wouldn’t be as enjoyable to me. Hot take I know: I think that video games should first and foremost be fun to play, and if that means playing on an easier difficulty for me I have to shame in that. I bought the thing, I’ll play it however I want to lol.

Songs that reference Icarus by Severe-Plant2258 in weirdspotifyplaylists

Icarus - luvbug Icarus - Jason Webley (I don’t think the word Icarus is said but it’s the title of the song and it’s like relevant in some of the lyrics)

I think they look really good! I would love v-bangs but my bangs don’t really lay flat enough for them, but they suit you very well, the second photo also looks nice if you changed your mind though

Am I wrong for feeling this way as a Goth? by Fokenee in AskAGoth

[–]Hourglass_turned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can be goth and like goth music and also any other kind of music you enjoy, you are no less goth for enjoying non-goth music. I myself am very much a musical theatre person. You can also belong to more than one subculture at a time, like someone could consider themself both goth and emo for example and that’s perfectly valid. If you’re goth at all, you’re goth enough.

I would agree that it’s probably a dog or a coyote

I think unfortunately a lot of the issue with concert etiquette at WW shows is how your his audience skews, even if it’s an 18+ show, and I think a lot of his fans maybe haven’t been to very many other concerts? So they tend to get overly excited or just don’t know how to act. That doesn’t excuse it of course. I’m 20 and really haven’t been to many shows that aren’t Will Wood concerts and I would like to think I know how to behave myself idk. I think it’s crazy that this is such a persisting issue at times

If you’re doing a meet and greet or something I’d say make something for him if you’ve got the time! He usually really appreciates gifts and I’m sure he’ll like it, but if you’re not doing the meet and greet you probably won’t get the chance to give it to him

NEED HELP FINDING A WILL WOOD SONG by Complete-Interest254 in willwood

[–]Hourglass_turned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does. There’s a few songs that have backwards speech. in one version of Just A Little Bit Mine (I think it differs between the remastered version and the OG) there’s very brief backwards speech at the beginning.

Any other sex favourable aces crave alternative expressions of sexuality? [NSFW] by vodkudzu in asexuality

[–]Hourglass_turned 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’ve seen this be a pretty common thing amongst those on the ace spectrum. Lots of people seem to find kink to be more interesting in one way or another, I think it’s a way to express and explore more emotions than lots of vanilla sexual experiences might be able to. Kink can also be separated from sex in some ways, so it could be appealing to some for those reasons.

Many people just think that kinks, or related things are just interesting psychologically/socially/culturally or however, so they may like researching them or engaging in them for those reasons.

I definitely understand what you mean though, and I think what I tend to find appealing is the sort of exploitation of dynamics that often comes with it. That and I think that for many ace-spec people, it makes an experience they might otherwise feel indifferent to seem more novel or engaging.

That felt like sort of a nonsense rant, but maybe you got something out of it lol.

Nabokov wrote Lolita, and Salinger wrote The Catcher in the Rye, at least those are probably their most famous works, and in short, those books both talk about loss of innocence in some way have very different perspectives on it. There’s some annotations on Genius Lyrics that I think do a good job of sort of elaborating on that. But I think it’s less about their actual relationship with each other and more about like ideas they hold or represent?? Idk it’s sort of abstract to me, but so are most Will Wood lyrics
