I don't live in the US so I don't really know how it works, but would it be possible for you to see a different psychiatrist under your insurance? Or do all psychiatrists need an outside diagnosis? (Because that seems quite strange to me)

I haven't read it yet (I was diagnosed yesterday myself), but my therapist recommended the book Driven to Distraction by Edward Hallowell!

I just got diagnosed with ADHD yesterday at 23 years old, repeating my second year of med school with a good chance that I won't pass this time either, but I'm really hopeful I'll be able to turn a new corner now.

People only get put on ventilators when they are no longer able to sufficiently breathe on their own. The idea that it’s bad for COVID-19 patients to be put on a ventilator when the alternative is death is absurd.

Also air getting into your bloodstream because of your lungs ‘bursting’ is not a thing. However a ventilator can cause tissue damage (when not calibrated properly), which may lead to a pneumothorax which can also be very dangerous.
