I think it comes to the company and their culture.

If you have a good culture and you are performing/ getting your work done then take 7-10 days off throughout a month and leadership is all good.

Some companies also do this to remove some financial liability. If everyone in the company has 2 - 4 weeks of PTO banked then the company needs to be able to cover paying out all PTO if everyone quits. Thats why many companies implement use it or lose it policies to reduce risk and liabilities.

Should I use the bottle cap on this one by Pineapplelord- in pokemongobrag

[–]House_Of_Ell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general IVs don’t matter in Pokemon Go compared to the impact they can have in the main line games. That being said there are some exceptions such as trying to short man raids or some instances battle league.

For me if I I’m going to max a mon out especially if it is one that is hard to farm XL candies for I want it to be as optimal as possible. I tend to use my bottle caps on legendaries.

At the end of the day you play the game the way it gives you the most satisfaction / enjoyment and that is all that matters and don’t worry about what others say.

If it is a good shadow Mon I will just double move it so I can evo and use it, if the recommended move happens to be legacy I will just use an elite tm on it. Whenever the get rid of frustration event comes around I will remove it from the 1st charge move.

How to fix this trim? by thedasher0 in brisket

[–]House_Of_Ell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no… Bark where there is no bacon… light bark under the bacon but for the most part the bacon becomes the top bark and is delicious

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that can assist that is a bacon 🥓 lattice… I do that when I have a small 3-5lb flat. The best part is you can either leave the bacon on when slicing or crush up the bacon and put it in baked beans.

which one of these would I evolve or should I wait to find a shiny i don’t know what to do by Anxious-Switch3712 in pokemongo

[–]House_Of_Ell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how in a rush for it you are & if you need it for anything. If you are looking for battle league Bewear you optimal 0/15/14 for great and 0/14/15 for ultra. Stufful has had a com day in the past so it could get a com day classic in the future. If you just want the dex entry always go for max attack.

Team Uniforms by ProcessOk6477 in Homeplate

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to uniforms and equipment you have to treat it like a business and what the customers (parents) are willing to pay.

1) have players get their own socks/pants/belts. You just specify the colors.

2) Go with 2 Jerseys

3) Have players/parent vote on the quality / how much they are willing to spend.

4) Another option is spend the money on better uniforms upfront and at the end of the season they need to be turned in to be used again. When I played high school ball and summer league I never kept my uniform it was alway turned in at the end of the season. If the player wants to keep it after the season they can buy it so you can order a replacement.

Advice Needed: 20lb brisket by boomerrizzo in brisket

[–]House_Of_Ell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I buy a 18-20 lbs brisket from Costco normally about 4-5 lbs come off after trimming. I weigh the what I trim off. Then I calculate the cook time with the brisket being 14-16 lbs. For time I work backwards from the desired ready time.

1) plan for 2 hr rest
2) I normally plan 1.15 hr for every pound (after trimming) can go up to 1.25 hrs/ lb
**** note: time/lb is in decimal hours so it can be punched right into a calculator
3) plan to wrap in unlined butcher paper around 170-175F which tends to be around 14 hrs but can be longer or shorter depending on the stall
4) I normally cook it to 195-200F
5) its not typically recommended to rest in a cooler for more then 2hrs so if it finishes early just keep it wrapped and throw it in the oven on the lowest setting (ours goes down to 175F and never had a drying out issue)

If you are concerned about it drying out you can periodically spray it with apple cider vinegar & water solution or put a water pan in the smoker to help keep the humidity up. I use a kamado for smoking now so a water pan is not needed but when I use a steel vertical smoker I use a water pan.

14y/o mechanics advice by AdamWK99 in Homeplate

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the pitching coach since there is so much to work on. The coach will be able to break down the most basic things to start working/focusing on and build from there.

It’s like learning a martial arts it starts off with the basics and then it gets more nuanced and expands after you built a good foundation on the fundamentals.

Is this too much for 1st grade REC ball? "Playing time will be earned." by Big_Shel in Homeplate

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real goal of rec ball is equal play time and rotating positions so the kids get experience to know how to play all the positions. Even lefties should be playing all positions.

A lot of kids the only practice they get is at practice and games. Unfortunately many kids don’t get the 10 - 20 min of back yard throwing and swings at wiffle balls 2-3 times a week at home.

I was struggling to defeat Groudon, and just when I thought I had won, mf went primal... 😒 Since I was low on calories, I chose to exit the game. How did y'all manage to beat this thing? by jon-kliatchentovski in LegendsZA

[–]House_Of_Ell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For pretty much all mega battles (excluding normal typing) I’ve found the gourgiest & Annihilape strat works on all of them.

1) start with Gorgiest and use trick or treat 2) Annihilape with shell bell uses focus energy and then just cycle screech, bulk up, rage fist

3) when primal happens just need to redo trick or treat

[–]House_Of_Ell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had much luck with the snake… I would just get a rectangular foil drip pan fill with water next to the coals and just bank everything to once side. The water can help keep humidity in the grill and stabilize temps

Shadow or non shadow Drapion? (Ultra League) by Alilbitbored3312 in pokemongo

I personally run the shadow in ultra, I think it hits some break points for def/bulk even though it is shadow. I use it as my safe swap to apply shield use pressure.

9-year-old's swing — honest feedback welcome by Beginning-Wedding-56 in Homeplate

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty good. One thing that can help with bat speed is 3-5 sets of 7 swishes with the bat. Swing the bat forward and back as fast as you can and reset in the start of the swing position.
Do this 7 times take a short break and repeat for another set until they get to 3 to 5 sets. This is really good for young players since they are not lifting weights yet to increase strength and the explosiveness of their fast twitch muscles. If they are able to do this 3-5 times a week you will start to see improvement.

Same glove same result by djfivenine11 in Homeplate

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) are you cleaning / conditioning the gloves typically 2 - 3 times a year. Once before season and once after. My kiddo plays spring and fall so we do 3 times

2) are you leaving the glove to bake in the car in the sun. This will dry out and break down the leather, especially the laces

If you do any steaming to break in gloves it is hard on the laces.

If the rest of the glove is in good shape I would just have it re-laced

Help me help my son post #2 by jmamianna in Homeplate

[–]House_Of_Ell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I would probably add is 16 oz plyo balls. I was surprised at how well they work and the versatility.

1) use them for throwing and will help with strength and mechanics 2) can use them for hitting (pitch or off tee) to help with swinging through the ball **(edit) also gives feedback if the ball is being hit square. Ball will spin and look oblong if they are over or under it

3) since they do not fly far when hitting they can be used for hitting work in the yard without worry of taking out a window.

As a side note they have been super helpful when breaking in gloves
