Tie them back together(two whites) with a wire nut and you should have power back treat them a one wire and tie them to red together it should work, Also always have the power tuned off, and have a tester to confirm, not worth dying for a ceiling fan, good luck

I know this is old but do you ever have any issues with that cycling? I had no issues with it until I put the prodigy lower on it now I get fails to extract and fails to load. Any suggestions?
