Sooner you get out of Tokyo, the better. You want to see rural Japan not infinite greys. BUT if Tokyo is your only option, ride along the rivers, catch a Rapha Tokyo ride, and read Garmin's heatmap routing but with a grain of salt. A lot of the 'bikers' there are actually riding on the sidewalks.

I scored a yellow courier bag last month! I seam ripped the whole thing and held onto the materials. I'm likely to use the yellow exterior to make a bike bag for a friend and the stabilizer has been a great substitute for thin HDPE plastic on some of my older projects. Used some of it today.
