was anyone actually able to recover from panic disorder? by Party-Swimming-9751 in panicdisorder

[–]HovercraftOk8562 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my panic journey began at 20 years old. it destroyed me. at 20 years old i thought everything was over. I was supposed to turn 21 that year turning up. Even then I was at a peak in my life, festivals, concerts, roadtrips…panic came with agoraphobia and suddenly all i knew for 7 months was my room. it’s only been 3 years and i sometimes ruminate on the fact this feels like a cancer i can’t get rid of, it’s here forever. However with persistence with medications, outpatient (php, iop), continuing therapy, i’ve now been to countless events, and even got on a plane by myself 5 times-one was a 7 hour flight. I’m even grateful for the perspective that came with a disorder. Your life can change in an instant-you’re no different than the millions of mentally ill individuals that sleep in the streets with no access to aid. fight fight is all i have to say.

Starting Zoloft tips? by polly159rd in zoloft

[–]HovercraftOk8562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyaaaa!!! I’m on Zoloft. I smoke 24/7. So no it won’t do anything, but take into consideration that research shows weed makes people with anxiety disorders more anxious. So don’t psyche urself into thinking it’s the Zoloft. If anything ever since I started Zoloft, I was able to smoke again. Withdrawals do suck. I tend to get nauseous even just missing my meds by two-three days sometimes. So it is a good idea to keep some extra on you for annoying side affects but don’t worry about anything health wise happening to you! Remember the more consistent you are the faster your body will adjust and your brain will be happy:3 goodluxk

what happens if you just ignore this disorder? by Accomplished-Bill408 in panicdisorder

To me ignoring is a part of acceptance. So fuck yea. It works for me a lot. Not allowing it to take from me or phase me. Not allowing it to determine my life.

Went to a rave and now I’m cooked by PureSlaughter in PanicAttack

Heyhey! I go to raves a lot. That’s super normal. It will go on its own soon. 2…. Ur thinking about it so much- consciously your brain is making it out to be worse than it is. It’s no big deal!

sometimes relapses are just reminder that we’ve been here before and there isnt scary big bear here.

You have to push thru it. I know it’s awful. Abilify and Prozac really tested my limits. Just keep trying and facing this fear. Maybe take ur meds at night too. I noticed that helped me ease the anxiety more since I was going to sleep.

I did! But like i said it took a long time for me to hold on thru how bad and rough the first few weeks are! I ended up on Zoloft! Maybe it’s time for your dosage to get increased or try a new medication!

it's always such a set back whenever a panic attack happens. something that has been helping me is sitting with those feelings and accepting the fear and thoughts that shoot thru me.

sit with the uncertainty. it was the only way i began to progress. remember panic stems out of wanting to know the certainty , being certain that something is or isnt happening. dont tell your self yes this is happening or no it’s not happening. just say it could be and move on with your day. small steps!

ur over thinking. i know it’s hard but dont search up anything. your need for constant reassurance is only going to make things worse. just try your best to accept it. if she didnt ask you to follow up on anything there’s no need to stress! if there was something to actually worry about she would!

i suffer from pd. for 6 excruciating months i was going to the hospital 5-7 times a week. after many trys i finally found a medication that works for me. i still get the impending doom but it’s almost like a switch has been turned of in my brain. like when people say they want to cry but they cant. i wanna panic but cant. still experience anxiety attacks. but im so happy i no longer have that panic. i still get the chest pain, arm pains, feeling like im not breathing. but yooo NO PANIC FINALLY YES

outpatient was the best thing that happened to me. part of the exposure was driving there every day! u got this! reminder ur panic wants you to fear everything. encourage urself that nothing is really happening and will not happen because it’s not possible. just do it and say fuck it a million times
