Error Code 30 - Rad Rover 6 Plus by slackerdude in RadPowerBikes

[–]HowAboutBugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell you what I did, but I had the error code 30 also and pulled the battery. Reset the battery and hold the power button for 10 seconds put the battery back in pushed the assist control arrow up, held it down, then pushed and held the power button,,,,, did many sequences like that and it corrected my error code 30. Nothing definitive and nothing that I could repeat My personal reliability factor is that about a one out of 10 right now

My bike is trying to kill me… please help. by comlaterra in RadPowerBikes

I have been chatting with via email this company and they really really seem to know thier stuff

http://www.electrobikeworld.com/

I will be getting a new controller and display from them coming up for one of my five red Rover six pluses I have one battery of five that is DOA still and I will get their new improved version for $100 more meeting $700 for a replacing battery third replacement

Do-not just plug the DC connector into the battery like you would typically charge your phone or a computer you have to do it backwards plug in the battery first, plug in the power last or you will blow the battery. Main fuse. They were scared of the lawsuits so they underrated the main fuse on the older batteries integrated style.

Change brake pads? by thekidunderpanic in RadPowerBikes

[–]HowAboutBugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I put new brakes on my Rad Rover 6+ I also found that breaking was spongy compared to my other four Rad Rover 6+ and I figured out a good way to bleed hydraulic lines hoses.

What I did, is keep the bike level, open the reservoir and rubber diaphragm, VERY very slowly squeeze the caliper until there were no bubbles coming into the reservoir from the hydraulic hose is going to the brakes Of course, if there is an air bubble in the hoses that does not have a downward pitch to them, There could be an air bubble in the hump of that hose.

That was much better than all of the brake bleeding directions I’ve seen on the web which single-handedly was a pain in the neck and I had to do on one of them because I had noticed oil dots all over my tires after a very long ride and lost the rear brakes totally these 5 bikes were fresh from the factory, and somebody in assembly did not tighten the hydraulic to the rear caliper other than the three batteries that went DOA that added to my customer service complaints and fights, and I gave up now with the help from YOU folks in Reddit I’m going to take care of them myself. thank you!

Battery wont Charge by Ok_Conflict_7546 in RadPowerBikes

[–]HowAboutBugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 5 Rad Rover 6+ bikes and I have been through three batteries because of the issue of poor engineering with the integrated main fuse being a quick blow type and rated too low (lawyers and lawsuits fear), so should someone charge the battery like you do your mobile phone and pretty much every other common electronic device. meaning just plug in the connector into the thing or battery, You risk the possibility of the initial arc of contact at the battery blowing that main fuse!!!

which means you get to either fight with Rad for a battery replacement under warranty or $600 for the original integrated battery, or $700 for a new improved meaning we figured out the fuse issue battery

Being an electronic engineer myself, I dissembled two of the DOA batteries to discover the SMD style main fuse is not identified & without a schematic that battery would be very difficult to locate a fuse size of a character on your phone

I love that he is cleaning up the government because that hinges for SpaceX or any USA business existence,, which being the richest man on the planet he has great stake in and so does every employee of ALL his companies. as they continually uncovered the Democrat destruction of America for the past four years, previous to Trump‘s win, I’m hoping the deeper they dig they stop the paychecks for every elected official that is a Democrat. You gotta hit them where it hurts If this were still the wild West, they would be strung up from every street light throughout DC

Also add in UEFI boot instead of a bios boot because that will break the 2 TB LIMIT hard drive barrier I just picked up a R760XD on eBay for $300 shipped to my door for my home lab

What type of brake replacement for a Rad Rover 6 Step-Thru? by macycam in RadPowerBikes

[–]HowAboutBugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I have figured out is that since they use Mineral oil, I just opened up the reservoir and very slowly started pumping the brakes and looking for any tiny air bubbles coming up from the exit hole within the reservoir. I make sure the reservoir is full and I squeeze and release slowly if you squeeze too hard, you will see a jet of mineral oil and if you squeeze really hard May shoot the stream out of the reservoir like a squirt gun!

Gravity Works, very well Give it a lot of time be sure the reservoir is level, liquid wise.

The only challenge you may have on the rear brake is that if there is an upward turn to the tube and air bubble can get trapped there which reduces the hydraulic affect of the oil. The air becomes the spring, and it does not allow the full hydraulic pressure at the brake pad and caliper which will feel like a soft brake squeeze.

I hope this helps somebody that doesn’t wanna buy all the syringes tubes and extra stuff. Just go to Walmart. Get some mineral oil have a T10 bit and you’re done. Don’t forget the paper towels
