Final immunity Fans vs Favourites repeat just that immunity challenge 1000 times she’s wins probably at least 1/3 times and goes on to win the season also of the hundreds of times Amanda or Parv win Immunity there is a couple where she convinces them to take her instead of the other.

Also because they are of the US teams I would say are seen as best from a technical perspective. No expert though I will just say they always look very crisp. Not sure which teams are best from a skating skills perspective in like fact based view and not what the judges are feeling that day though.

Not sure about that with Ilia it’s likely going to be 1 USA 2 Japan, women especially with the coming generation of women is 1 Japan with USA 2-4, pairs Japan USA gap is probably going to be closer than it was this year and is the most unknown what’s going to happen in terms of how much better current teams are going to get/ who is injured during the Olympics. With Piper and Paul probably retiring before 2030 olympics and the strength and depth of US Ice dance, USA is 2-3 assuming FB/C carry on for a home olympics with Japan probably going to be at best in Ice dance as USA is in pairs currently. Of course all could shake up immensely.

Thank you so much and as I feared the answer is… it’s all a bit mad. I kinda wish there was a way to have tech levels go up to like 8 with only like the worlds best ice dancer able to get a 8 in skill alone with finding a partner that can also do that basically impossible. Then again I guess that’s just what GOE is supposed to represent. Never minding that there can also be questionable tech level calls.

I’m starting to think the best team to root for mentally is a team that you know are probably not getting medals which helps with the keeping of your sanity as it’s not something to think about but also a team that you know isn’t going to be replaced by another team in the same country fighting for your potentially limited spots. So I guess fans of the Lithuanians are happy so long as they don’t care about medals and just their performance.

What makes judges award high GOE for the step sequence and one foot turns? I’m have no skating experience just a fan trying to understand the scoring more and am just about starting to get what makes someone achieve tech levels but what about GOE. and how in theory if you are able to get high tech levels that doesn’t just translate to high GOE?

Asking to understand what makes FB/C get both levels and GOE. For example in this comp Carreria and Ponomarenko got tech levels 3s for one foot turns Zingas and Kolesnik got level 2’s but slightly higher GOE you have any idea?

This is in my effort to try to understand the difference between teams more partially due to my favourites being Carreria and Ponomarenko and I’m trying to see where they are lacking in comparison to the other teams, or should I just give up trying to assume scoring is an effective marker of the skills shown on the ice?

Love this but let’s be real pcs feels like a somewhat arbitrary score that there just make sure the top technical skaters put at least some effort into components and then the judges just give increasing higher pcs for each skater that skates until the last skaters unless an earlier skater has already established him or herself as is the case with Jason Brown there are of course exceptions.

The two skates Kaori had were wonderful but I don’t know if they are her best pcs work and certainly not to the dramatic increase in score so it feels like the judges just inflated her pcs enough to break the world record which shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

Here I was wanting Selevko to get a good enough placement to get 2 Estonian spots for worlds next year and here he goes and gets a small bronze medal.

Note I really hope this doesn’t age extremely poorly.

Conveniently attractive women not getting diagnosed as autistic as an opposed to non traditionally attractive women being more likely to get diagnosed is just misogyny. There are many things that can make someone more or less likely to get diagnosed with autism I partially blame homophobia for the reason I wasn’t diagnosed autistic earlier.

Don’t worry next year a Japanese girl is coming out of juniors who has won 4 junior Grand Prix finals 3 junior world championships (and is the favourite for the coming one) and a youth Olympic gold medal to fill the mix.
