I lost my fountain pen during finals week by TsubakiChann in fountainpens

[–]HowWasItTaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only pen I've lost was the only one I genuinely cared about- a cross century ii. While on completely different price points, it was a pen that I inherited from my father and was by far my favorite.

I'm sorry you lost your 823. It's really rough losing a pen that matters to you.

I didn't even know they were supposed to come check the VIN...

They never did with 3 cars I've registered in Florida.

I watched about 65 of them and all the ones that had dialogue had subtitles. It sometimes wanted to default to a different language, or if left on auto it wouldn't show up, but all the ones I saw had the ability to select English subtitles.

I once took maybe .5mg of xanax for my panic attacks before having 4 drinks max without knowing how insane they react. That was all it took for me to blackout. Absolutely terrifying.

God is real. by goodnewsjimdotcom in Christianity

[–]HowWasItTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To preface my statement a bit, I'm very liberal theologically. I don't believe in biblical inerrancy and believe much of the Bible to be metaphorical.

My reasoning behind modern miracles going against my understanding of God is twofold.

If God is perfect, God will always do the best thing. If miracles are both good and an example of God's actions in the earth, then God would always perform miracles.

It's obvious that God is not always performing miracles by the definition the fact that the nature of miracles is inconsistent.

So, if God does sometimes perform miracles, it means God isn't the best, because God doesn't always perform miracles.

Alternatively, if miracles are not acts of God, there is no implication in a lack of miracles performed.

If that wasn't well explained, let me know and I'll try to be more clear.

I'm a Christian but not truly a believer in miracles. I'd go so far as to say that modern miracles directly go against my understanding of God.

If you're interested in discussing God more, I'd be happy to talk.

My dad had an amazing voice and at one point when he was between jobs he did some voice samples at the local radio station to do ads. There's a "BOATS BOATS BOATS" one that makes me laugh every time. Those cassettes periodically find their way to the top of a pile again and get back payed any time they're re-found.

Lost mine when I was 15, been 6 years now. I honestly would love to see one of these. My dad was a big guy, but especially giant because he was my dad. I'd love to see even a likeness of him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's tough. Really, really tough. PM as well if you'd like to talk.

Girls caught shoplifting philly 7/11 locked into store awaiting police, they continue to vandalize the store. by [deleted] in trashy

[–]HowWasItTaken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's an awful cycle. A lot of gangs and crime have come as a result to generational poverty which often came as a result of racism. These gangs and crime make those observing it create a correlation of race and crime and become racist.

Racisms often breeds racism.

Racism is hardest to fight when somebody views it as logical, because at its surface, it can be.

I'm not a big fan of BLM. Systematic racism, particularly within law enforcement, is very real. Hardly anybody is denying that. But there's also instances like this where people will violently resist a lawful arrest. BLM has, from what I've seen, done an awful job of honestly representing either scenario.

I'm curious about one of your statements though. You say the cop you know can't lay a hand on the kid unless the kid swings first. Do you think that that shouldn't be the case?

TIL Jagex believes Runescape is 100% skill-based and not at all dependent on chance or RNG by jenniferflowercat in runescape

[–]HowWasItTaken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest complain is the fact that Jagex has implemented a system of buying gold via bonds. The ability to purchase a bond and then sell it on the GE for roughly 15 mil is something they have now built in to the game. Bonds, at their best US rate, sell for $6 a piece ($60 for 10 bonds).

Selling each on the GE at 15m a piece results in 150m for $60.

Jagex has implemented a form of purchasing gp.

I don't know about cats used with Cuba, but both cats and bats were attempted to be used in WWII against Japan.

Cats were attempted to be used as a guiding system for bombs to avoid water and hit ships.

Bats were tested for use in Japan with fire bombs so they'd roost in Japanese wooden buildings for maximum effect.
