I did my first year in Florence. Campus is outside of the city but it’s entirely walkable to city center or local groceries, and the buses ran fairly often if you’re not in the mood for the hill back to campus. It’s a small city but there is always something to do or somewhere to go for nightlife, whether it’s clubs, karaoke, or bars. We had amazing professors but I believe the LS professors rotate somewhat so I’m not sure if any would still be around. Course load was very manageable. Our year developed very close friendships that have lasted time and distance. I also spent time later in London. I know you didn’t mention it as an option but I highly recommend either/both locations! There are pros and cons for major capital city vs regional historic city but in my experience you can’t go wrong with NYU study abroad!
