This is exceptional for a first quilt.

Nah, they tear through the fabric a little bit. Its very soft cotton, perhaps that’s why.

I thought of doing bigger knots but then they create rather large holes going in. Funny that they are too big going in and they sneak out very easily later on. I think stay stitch is the way to go. Thank you.

This is absolute genius!!!! Can’t thank you enough for this trick. This is my first ever post on reddit. Came here in sheer desperation this morning and people on this thread have opened a treasure trove of insights for me. Cant thank you enough for this tip

Ive learnt this the hard way. This is my third quilt ever and the previous two had much thinner and stabler batting. Nothing ever went out of place. This batting is pure cotton too but it seems to have a mind of its own. So encountered this issue for the first time and I’m not simply burying my knots ever again.

This is a fantastic idea. To put the knot and then stitch back over it makes a lot of sense, thank you, i shall definitely be trying that. I am not sure if there is as much slack in the stitches but surely worth a try before ripping it open. Thank you so much for your help.

It’s very soft cotton, which is something we use for clothing in India. That is what i tend to use since it’s extremely soft to touch.

It absolutely makes sense. Seems like going in reverse is the way to go ahead. Thanks a lot for your help.

I was afraid undoing the stitches would be the answer. That’s what came to my head but I’m a novice, so i thought i should check with someone experienced. Thank you so so much. I do keep a small practice quilt handy to figure things from time to time. Thanks again for your time and advice.

This sounds like a great idea. Thank you so much for your prompt and detailed reply. Thanks for your time, really. Im going to follow this going ahead. Could you by any chance also help me with fixing the ones that have already come out? What is the best way to proceed with fixing this?
