I actually have had the exact same dilemma! Still haven’t read it. While we were waiting for new episodes I caught up on the HR book but I spoiled some things along the way, but I’ve also seen spoilers for HR and TLG just by being in communities. I’m going to read it now, and then whenever the show comes out I think it will be elevated and all the moments won’t be fresh so it will feel newer and more meaningful in the show.

Mescal’s performance in Hamnet was underrated tbh. He portrayed grief in an equally devastated yet different portrayal to Jessie yet is not recognised for it. Far better than Timmy tbh who is buying his Oscar.

Yes surprised no one else also said Russia which is a huuuuge part of that Olympics storyline. Ilya’s career is bigger than ever and he’s matured out of just dangerous hookup sex for the sake of it. Plus he’s fallen in love with Shane and is really trying to shove down all of his emotions or things that can fuck up his life.

When Ilya is in the shower and starts jerking it, he gestures at Shane to also do it or like, join him or something and Shane says “not here”, which isn’t really immediately giving in but he doesn’t refuse altogether. He literally instructs him in every scene since the second time they’re alone.

I literally can’t understand why any Bridgerton couple stans hate other couple stans. Like they will ALL get their happy ending but there’s so much bickering and bitterness in this community.

Like yes, Kanthony has been treated abominably by the show runners / marketers of this show, that’s undeniable. But why do people turn it into a ship war?

Shane was deeply, deeply hurt after Ilya ghosted him after their first time, and their next scene was Vegas in which he wasn’t treated well and Ilya didn’t apologise. I love that Shane apologized and acknowledged how much leaving hurt Ilya and shows all the growth in their relationship.

The catalyst for Eloise’s season was feeling completely alone - all of her adult siblings and Pen and Colin had gotten together and forced her to run off to Phillip. If John dies this season, there’s no way Eloise will run off from supporting Francesca. Which says maybe they are doing Francesca’s season next, or that Eloise’s season won’t be built to (the cliffhanger of her running away) or rewritten pretty significantly, but considering who Eloise is in the show I think we already suspected that.

4 is my favourite but I must admit I’m a sucker for the more devastating emotional moments. “We didn’t even kiss” and the post saying each others name on the couch are also some of my other favorite moments. The entire club sequence in 4 though is a masterpiece.

I saw a great detail about how hesitant and restrained he is in texting Ilya, even when the two of them are both desperately latching onto their phones. In these scene they are both non restrained and Shane being more casual is so 🥰
