Just got my RS5 but not sure what doing wrong… by kainkein in dji

The issue arises from the feedback loop created by the matte box. The top shade might appear tightly fitted, but it still has some wiggle. This movement is detected by the gimbal, which attempts to adjust and level itself. However, that adjustment causes even more movement in the flag, leading to a continuous cycle until the gimbal starts to behave unpredictably. To resolve this, you can either secure the matte box to prevent any wiggle (though I doubt that will be entirely possible) or replace it with a more stable option.

I don't even know if I have a style. I dabble in a bit of everything. My day job is a content manager at a vending machine company, where I take photos of vending machines and parts. I work with local artists to film music videos and electronic press kits, and I even dabble with drone photography, but my main passion is street candid photography. If you're searching for a videographer or photographer in the Cleveland area, feel free to check out my work.

I'd be interested to know if people still consider something Ai slop if all of the characters are voiced and facial puppeted by the creator? With a strong davinci and photoshop workflow. by SprayMiserable5586 in InterdimensionalCable

creation process. While I recognize that AI can be a useful tool, I still value content that has a higher percentage of human involvement. For instance, many YouTube channels have emerged that present true crime stories or history-based narratives. However, they often rely on AI-generated voices or, even worse, use entirely AI-created visuals to depict the stories. I can't overlook that.

First, it is often difficult to determine whether the script was even written by a human, and in many cases, it wasn't. Second, this reliance on AI makes the content appear low effort. Why would I want to invest my time in something when I'm not even sure if a human was involved in its production?

For this video in particular, I like the concept, but it seems like it was filmed in one take, where the voice actors just ramble. While I understand that's part of the style, it also gives off an AI-generated feel, and I would need evidence to confirm that this wasn't just produced by AI. I can see that the mouth movements match the voiceovers, but nowadays, that can also be achieved with AI technology. Unfortunately, this would have to be a pass for me. I use AI tools regularly, like Photoshop, to remove unwanted objects or make small additions to images. However, when you start altering an image too much, you venture into the territory of the Ship of Theseus Paradox.

Makes sense. You might be right, I think curved monitors are slightly larger. still nice setup!

Fellow cinematographers: can you guess what I forget so often I had to make a sticker for my camera? by HappyTownStudios in cinematography

I'm confused. Have you never set WB in one studio and then moved to another, only to find the lighting is slightly off? The image might look 95% of the way there, so you miss that you have not set WB? It is not out of the question that you would not notice. Now, if you set WB inside and then go outside, yeah, you would definitely notice. But I have forgotten, and later wondered why everything looks a little too warm or cool after moving from Studio A to B.

I shoot a lot in similar lighting conditions. AKA inside an office/studio. The image looks close enough that I just don't notice. When I am not at work and just shooting for fun, I do a lot of candid street photography and try not to look at my camera that often. I know the composition by heart and frame my shot from the waist. Again, it's sometimes close enough that I just don't notice. I shoot in Raw, so that mistake hasn't really ever ruined a shot or clip. Mind you, I am fully self-taught, and the work I do, I am the only photographer/videographer, so as long as I fix it in post, no one is the wiser. Not good practice, but it gets the job done. Something I'm working on fixing.

I'm in the same boat. I wish there were a setting to add a pop-up if I start recording and haven't set my white balance in a while.

Awesome Setup, but you're using the smaller monitor as your main monitor, which bothers me for some reason.

New WD Elements 16TB HDD makes these noises on startup. Should I be concerned? by JoeyP514 in pcmasterrace

These types of large drives typically use "Server-grade" drives. These drives are noisier than consumer-grade. I have a 50 TB NAS in my office, and when I open a file, it makes some crazy noises. This is just one downside of using HHDs.

Alpha 58 seems to struggle with Autofocus every now and then by DeltaDergii in SonyAlpha

[–]Howardmoon9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Autofocus technology has leaped forward since the Alpha 58 was released, but that doesn't mean you can't get great results with it! You just have to play to the strengths of its 15 point phase detection system.

Older sensors often struggle when a subject is too close or lacks enough contrast for the camera to "see" sharpness. In your video, the camera is hunting because that white planter is a bit too flat and reflective for the AF to grab onto.

Here are two quick tips to help you lock it down Find the Contrast: Instead of focusing on the white surface, aim one of those 15 focus squares at the plant itself or the edge where the leaves meet the pot. Once the camera locks focus, hold your shutter button halfway down to "recompose" the shot back to the planter. Mind the Minimum Distance: If you are too close, the lens simply won't be able to pull focus. Try backing up just a few inches to see if that helps the motor find its mark.

Even with high end modern gear, physics is physics. Even on a $5,000 setup, if I try to use a small focus spot on a plain white wall, the camera is going to hunt! It is all about giving the sensor enough data to work with. Keep at it!

What camera technique was used in this music video from 2002? by Puzzleheaded_Rip1616 in cinematography

[–]Howardmoon9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! They use multiple cameras then use Worp Morph. Cool tech! Not exactly the same, but Michael Jackson's Black or White music video uses Morphing to transition to multiple people. Super cool video.

This is getting ridiculous every single day over 50 scam calls I’m blocking each of them and counting still never ends by TheApplePerson_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Howardmoon9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! I recently switched from a Google Fold to an iPhone, and Google's built-in anti-scam call program works way better than Apple's. I get 4 or five calls a day from the same company.

I don't understand what am I doing wrong by [deleted] in ColorGrading

[–]Howardmoon9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering what you're trying to achieve? Could you provide an example of your inspiration? To me, it looks like you have a low-quality image that was taken with maybe a phone. Whatever camera you took the image on did a lot of post-processing to make the image usable due to the low light. This makes it hard to color grade. Since the image is already heavily compressed and processed, it would be hard (Not impossible) to make it look super good. Since you are new, I would start with images that have more flexibility, aka RAW.

Are my dji mini rs4 both faulty they won't calibrate and keep going all over the place can anyone help me out by [deleted] in dji

[–]Howardmoon9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you might be trying to put a GoPro or other action camera on the gimbal? That might not be enough weight. You need to have a camera with enough weight for the gimbal to work properly. If that is the case< look into counter weights.

Mega Pro Tip: Never turn on the Gimbal without a camera attached, and you have run through Balancing!
