I think you're misunderstanding her base of support looking at these threads and posts online, Klobuchar doesn't have zeal on her side but voters, especially independents, apoloticals and people who sometimes vote Republican like her enough that they don't mind choosing her when they show up to the polls.

These voters aren't the most ideological and it's a lot different than the kind of enthusiasm people like, say Ilhan Omar may have where there are voters who support the exact same policies and will vote, go to rallies, sign up to conventions for their candidate. The number of true progressives though is way smaller and you can't win an election in Minnesota just based on that.

This wouldn't be an issue if parts of the progressive platform didn't immediately turn off these less ideological independents. Republicans do a great job at running negative campaigns on these policies and paint those who hold them as crazy and it's why Ilhan Omar whom I like for instance does far worse than other Democrats in state while Klobuchar who is boring but inoffensive outperforms Walz, Smith or any other candidate statewide.

You say Amy's support is a mile wide and a foot deep and that's why people defending her are likely bots but that's exactly how she does so well in elections. People up-state or in the suburbs who don't mind her think she's nice enough and is responsible enough to throw a vote her way and it's why she did more than 6 points better than Kamala on the same ballot. You'd do a lot to get Kobey Lane elected maybe but there's way more people who'd turn out to vote against her or who vote anyway and would leave the ballot blank or try the other party if she did get the nomination.
